Im currently e85 tuned with shoemaker
Guy around the corner has a Scion the blubbers and purcolates everytime he decels. To me it reminds me of the finishing point of a toilet flushing

You can tune it for different intensities, duration, etc. Mine does it a few seconds, only in sport mode, and not that aggressive/obnixious. Ford put the logic in all pcms but only activated it in bullit afaik.
I get a couple of pops in track mode when it is cold, is this because it is a Bullitt?

This thread makes me wonder if I even know what a burble tune is, so forgive my ignorance. I thought the 18-23 did some burbles stock with the active exhaust, and all of the Ford Performance Power Packs added it to cars without.

I doubt Ford would add something that would damage cats from the factory, nor do I think the Power Packs would get CARB approval with something damaging to emissions.

Is a "burble tune" something more obnoxious than the stock/perf pack noise on decel that seems to last about 500rpm? If not, why is OP in a 2019 seeking a burble tune instead of just slapping on a Power Pack?

I’m kinda the same way. I didn’t even know there was a “burble tune”. My 23 Mach 1 manual has a Steeda X-pipe, but otherwise it’s stock, and it “burbles” on its own. Not obnoxious, but it does it.

You need a specific tune for that ? Mines tuned and does it all the time on decel, as long as the PCM doesn't shut the fuel off.

I've seen many cars round these parts with burble tunes. Seems like more and more of these people are just attempting to garner attention rather than making peak power gains. Never knew it was called burble tune until this thread was read... Thanks for connecting the dots.
It's never about power gains. Burble tunes take away power by dumping fuel so you are both wasting fuel and making less power albeit a minimal amount less but still less

This isn’t even close to true. There’s no way a properly configured burble tune will make less power. Not even 1hp less. There’s no difference.

There are multiple ways to set the tune up to do it and none of them involve making any changes to any areas of the calibration except the deceleration areas. If a burble tune is making less power because of the burble noises then it’s setup wrong.

Mind showing me some datalogs to back that up? Dumping fuel is never good. It's a guaranteed way to blow up cats, lose power, lose mpg and foul up spark plugs which also then results in a loss of HP. All around burble tunes have all downsides and 0 upsides. Just buy a BMW if you wanna be slow and loud.

Lol yes. You do. Stock tune cuts fuel on decel. Your tuner disabled that function it seems like. Not sure why.

The car doesn't dump fuel buddy. Its spark, not FUEL. It still idles down at Stoich. Its not dumping any fuel. Its just not cutting fuel either. Its sitting at an idle state while decelerating. You don't need a data log to see it, look at your gauge. Every mustang is equipped with an AFR gauge.

Erroneously low MBT will create burble as long as DFSO isn’t active.

If you can discern a difference in WOT power output from a deceleration data log then you're much better at this than I am. I suppose I could also ask for a data log from you to prove your point, but it's not worth it because what you're suggesting isn't possible. There is no power loss from a properly configured burble tune.

Dumping fuel is never good.
What lambda value would you consider to be "dumping fuel?" Because, like @Pistol_91 said, it's literally just commanding an idle state, which is 1.0 lambda. I would not consider that to be dumping fuel, but maybe your definition is different than mine.

It's a guaranteed way to blow up cats
Why do many OEM cars do it, to include the Bullitt? Seems blowing up the cats would be a good way to get the EPA in your business. Yet, many OEM cars do it with no issues from the EPA and federally mandated catalyst warranties.

lose power
Not true. Stop spreading this garbage.

This is one area where you're correct, but if this is the only part of your position that is correct, and a marginal loss of MPG is important to you, then you've bought the wrong car and you're on the wrong forum. Also, as mentioned above, many OEM cars do this. If it really hurts fuel economy that badly then OEMs wouldn't do it because it would kill their CAFE averages.

foul up spark plugs
Let me make sure I understand...idling your car fouls spark plugs?

All around burble tunes have all downsides and 0 upsides
There is only one downside you are correct about, MPG, and it's a non-issue. The upside is that people like things different than what you like, and if they like it then that's the only upsaide needed. You just don't like it, which is fine, but don't spread wrong information just because you don't like it.

Just buy a BMW if you wanna be slow and loud.
Tell me you have no idea about any other performance cars without telling me you have no idea about any other performance cars.

You know half the gauges are guess/jokes right? Hell most of the are on/off readings and nothing in-between. You can't trust a Ford gauge it's made by Ford. Also burbles and pops are created by what? Explosions. Explosions are achieved by what? Gas combusting IN the exhaust. Have you ever seen the inside of an engine with a burble time setup? Leaves the valve open to that it can DUMP fuel into the exhaust and then ignite it. So yes it does indeed DUMP fuel. Really not sure why that's a hard concept for you, I suggest you use google.com and it will answer your questions and prove you wrong. Enjoy!
