"Mikef523": if you decide to allow the commercial driver to drive your Mustang, I would recommend that you request a report on the vehicle. Any problems, odd noises or vibrations, loose parts, etc. that the driver noticed. This would be a more intensive test drive than your dealer would put the car through during DPI.

Great suggestion. Come to think of it, the dealer did mention that it is one of the things the driver does do when he delivers the car.

Hi guys my Ruby Red GT Prem PP build week 2/2 arrived at dealer today,
Upon inspection found damage to left rear wheel, several panel alignment issues
Mainly trunk/tail light and rear bumper cover to left rear quarter panel alignment
Way off. But the big one for me is lower grill is not the same as top grill- honeycomb/shark tooth. Lower grill is the one used on V6,50 year appearance package, and adaptive cruise control lower grill. I believe ford has decided to standardize the lower grill on all models for cost savings. There where 3 mustangs on the transport 1 was Ecoboost with wavy top grill and standard non wavy on lower.
I my option the the non matching grill on GT just kills the looks and my be a deal breaker for me if they will not change lower grill. Also panel problems must be fixed and not just saying their within build tolerance. So after all this waiting a BIG Disappointment!
Wow, that is ridiculous. I got confirmation from my dealer mine will be delivered tomorrow!:clap2: Can't pick it up until Saturday however since I'll be picking the car up in Louisiana (3 hour drive). But, I may send a list to my dealer to check all of these things that are showing up with the hold cars. Last thing I want to do is drive three hours only to find a shoddy vehicle that has many problems when it is BRAND FREAKING NEW. I'm hoping for the best and I'm going to have them take tons of pictures to send me before I pick it up.

Oh and good luck to everyone whose car still hasn't come yet. Just know, it will come at some point. And the wait will be worth it, as long as there aren't a laundry list of issues with it! Lol.:tsk:

Yeah, I know you are probably right, but being in the 2/2 hold week, I think most of us are "chomping at the bit" to get our cars. so I think I am going to take the dealers word that it is safe. But I would still like to hear the opinions of others. Who knows? If I get too many negatives, I might change my mind.....I have the same EDD as you Stang nut
In my experience, drivers like that are very low risk. If you don't want to wait, go ahead and OK it.

I'd even ask the dealer if you could pick it up yourself. There's nothing special about drivers like that. Usually just retired guys looking for something to do and a little extra money.

Well, the Guard GT PP looks gorgeous, part of me wishes I had waited. Until I opened the door. It's just not the same, the leather seats look better, and MFT is more attractive too.

I still prefer Guard to Black, but hey, I'm glad I got a premium. There were no panel issues as far as I could see. For some reason they moved the car inside the dealership in the middle of the show room even though they knew I was coming to photograph it. The people who moved it, apparently did not. But it was impressive to see it as soon as I walked in. It makes sense to put it on display where you can see just how pretty the paint color is, especially on that car.

The only issues I noticed were considerable mud on the center stack. Two huge spots of mud, it has been sunny since the car arrived, so it's not from the dealership, although they did miss it. I was probably looking closer than they were as I wanted to find faults with it.

Excuse the poor photograph, I just wanted to show the color change of this paint. It's a blueish green, that shifts into a nice deep green, and into a grey/shale green. I love it.

So my Pony came in yesterday morning at 6 am. It just so happens to be the worst week for me with my business so time is limited. I went about 10 am and took pictures of all the panels. A few issues (trunk slightly off, hood uneven and of course rear window) but nothing drastic. I had some meetings so I left and didn't get a chance to go back until 4pm. I took it for an extended drive to test out the mechanicals. Everything seemed to work just fine. Dropped it back off cause I had a dinner function to attend which lasted until 930pm. Both times the Dealer offered for me to take the car and come back in a few days when I could complete the paperwork. Why am I posting this story? I just woke up and realized I am hesitant to purchase this vehicle. I know the coyote and 6r80 are proven machines but reliability is my main concern. Or possibly all this delay took the joy right out of it for me!

I heard from a Ford service rep that my car is in NJ waking to be loaded on a truck! Since my dealers right over the border in NY it should be very soon now! Can't wait!!

Just wanted to fill you guys in - I stopped by to check out my original order which I canceled and was built on 2/3/15 and there were a few panel issues. Hood was higher on the drivers side and trunk was slightly crooked. It doesn't pass my tolerance, but still looked good though! Make sure you're checking over your cars closely! I'll be doing that again when mine comes in a few weeks.
