Thanks for the info. Now if you get to talk to her again. Ask why are cars after our build dates are shipping and have BEEN DELIVERED??? That goes against not having parts or enough railcars. If there was no hold why would our cars still be there then and cars built after or not there. Rachel our service rep has even said there was a hold! Some of the vehicles there are being released slow now. Im just piss that I don't have a update on delivery.

Do u believe this?

Only my car was held for a QC check
Don't believe everything u read on the Internet
Rachel really doesn't work for Ford.

I'm supposed to get a call from Ford today regarding my car. I called yesterday to check and the person on the phone said she needed to escalate it because she couldn't see any info on the car and no EDD.

Lets see what story they come up with this time :) I don't mind, I know I just have to wait, eventually it will come. I'm not worried about QC issues either. I just like being informed, or at least trying to be informed, if I cant get anywhere with info that is ok too... shit happens.

I'm sure I'll have it within a month or so, and the wait will be worth it.

Regional Managers/Zone Managers whatever they're called, are required to disclose QC issues to the dealerships, and it was confirmed it was QC hold. It could have been one car that had an issue so they checked everything built in the same time frame, but regardless of how many cars was effected, that was the outcome. Some could wait, some like myself couldn't. I can tell you it is amazing walking out from a rough day at work and having a huge smile pop up on my face because I see my sexy black GT PP waiting for me.

I just received a call this morning from the "regional customer service manager" for ford dealerships in the Houston area.
My inquiry concerning delivery of my car was forwarded to her yesterday.
Here is what she told me.....She said that there are two possible issues regarding the "hold" on our cars. One is that there is a Longshoreman strike going on right now, and it could be affecting getting parts. the other issue, she says, is that there is a shortage of rail cars to ship our cars out.
I then asked her if there were any "quality control" issues that she was aware of, and she said no. So, according to her, it is not a problem with "bad builds", but it is a problem with either getting parts, or getting them shipped out.
That is all the info she had for the moment, but she said any further info, she would contact me ASAP.
That's it. I hope that sheds some light on things. But, who knows....everyone is getting different info, so who is to say what the real deal is???
"She said that there are two possible issues regarding the "hold" on our cars". What I read here is the possible reasons 'she can think of'. She does not say or imply that she has been informed of this by anyone in the know. Just something to say to try to smooth feathers, IMHO.

I also have no direct information. But I am keeping in mind for you all that you receive your cars, albeit frustratingly delayed, in very satisfactory (to you!) quality condition. :headbang:

Yeah, I know. it seems to more info we get, from all these different people who should be "in the know", the more things get confusing. I just figure we might as well pass along any info we get, and try to sort it out.

I couldn't pick up so the rep left me a voice message. All he said was that he could see it was built but it is still at the plant. Sometimes they get held. He will follow up Tuesday.

Just got an email from Rachel. My convertible (2/10) will be be held 'in Production' for at least another week. I don't think that most of the 4,000 'held' Mustangs are going to leave Flat Rock until mid-to-late March. That will give them two months to figure out what Ford is going to do. So I guess the weather will be warming up enough to drop the top when it gets here (MN).

Woah, I wish I knew why we are seeing a month to a two month hold on the vehicles. It really makes me worry about the build quality happening. This is my first purchase and I'm starting to think I should go and get the Scion TC since that was my other option of a car I liked....
