Hello all,

I recently upgraded my base front brake calipers and rotors to the Bullitt 6 piston brembos and rotors. The car currently sits on Niche M131 Wheels 20x10 5x114.3 40mm offset (wheels from previous owner), which one would imagine being a 20 inch wheel would fit these calipers.

However, to my surprise, there is around 1mm of clearance between the caliper and the inner barrel and even less between the air stem.

Taking the car for a test drive revealed scraping/scoring on the inner barrel and caliper when I hit bumps.

I want to look for new wheels but don't know how to guarantee the inner barrel will comfortably clear the new caliper. I really like the look of these wheels but I am open to suggestions on brands/other sizes. Any advice is welcome!

All Apex wheels and SVE wheels for our platform will clear the PP 6-piston Brembos.

Those spokes are mighty thick, must not have been designed for a Mustang originally. I got my 20 inch set from lmr.com. Velgen VF5. Plenty of clearance...

I have an older model of SVE wheels, they fit perfectly with plenty of clearance and all APEX wheels for S550s clear.

How’d you get your calipers to look that good? Mine look like a faded gray

The spoke and barrel design is what’s causing your issue, the diameter and offset are fine. As others have said, SVE and Apex all clear no problem. Project6GR is another good option that will fit no problem. They all have designed their wheels to work specifically for S550 Mustangs. 19” and 20” will both work from these manufacturers.

3mm spacers will help a little bit.

I like those wheels a lot. I backed off because I was unsure about clearance, given the depth of the spokes. Would a 6mm wheel spacer give you clearance needed?

Ah I see @shogun32 responded as well. Not sure how spacers affect outer tire clearance within the wheel well opening with the chosen tires.

At et40 (or 37 with spacer) your tires won't be anywhere close to the inner face of the wheel arch.

Those wheels are a screwball design. Many 19 fit fine. But you managed to find one of the few 20 that barely clear.

Thank you all for the suggestions. I want to clarify that the issue is not the clearance with the spokes/inner face of the wheel, it is with the caliper scraping the inner barrel of the wheel
