Just pulled it all apart yea your right the sprocket was seated against the oil pump it wasn’t moving out everything is where its joins be and the balancer is against the sprocket…now I’m looking into possible a stretched chain, bad tensioner, or bad guides I’ll include videos of how the engine behind the timing cover looks without me doing anything since last starting it…also the first video I added is similar to the sound I was hearing and it was coming from that same side I’ll include the video from the first time I reassembled and heard the noise

lmk what you guys think..

The crank sprocket does not sit against the oil pump. It's butted up against the shoulder of the crank. That is what drives the oil pump.

Nothing seems odd in the vids you posted. Seems like noise is on the pass side? Pics of secondary chains/guides?

I don’t have a pic of those…but the sound was coming from that area I showed I used a scope to listen…the vid I showed the chain is pretty loose compared to the driver side

The chain does not seem out of the ordinary. Depending on crank position, slack maybe observed on either the tension or slack side of the chain.

Hmm I’m stumped then this morning I did order new chains, guilds and tensioners just in case (all primary) and to my knowledge the secondary chains are tight

I saw pics recently of a guy’s secondary chains after they disintegrated. The roller shell broke in half and he had a handful of the broken pieces in his hand. He said every other roller shells broke broke off.

I’d at least inspect those very carefully, as well as your primary and secondary tensioner guide strips.

Any gouges in the guide strips? What fuel have you been running.

I mean it’s definitely a possibility but I never even touched those chains and the sound started after I did my opg and crank sprocket that’s why I’m kinda leaning away from it being the secondary chains

Yes, both primary and secondary guide strips. I was just curious whether you were running E85 and how the polymer guides held up to that fuel?

Yea I’m not sure I would just find it odd that the secondary chains were making noise if they weren’t before the job since I never touched them

Someone please correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t that a clogged style chain and phaser setup?
