I have read through a couple of threads on the Switchfire but haven't seen anything recent. Just wanted to see how everyone is liking it and if other people have purchased one but just haven't posted up. I purchased one but haven't installed it yet. I have a 20 M6 w/active but no exhaust mods. I have to say that I do like the quiet mode pretty well, at least for the times I dont want the burbling exhaust to drown out more of the sound of the coyote. Quiet mode seems "smoother" than the other exhaust modes and I like that. How big of an impact from a volume standpoint did the switchfire have on quiet mode in normal driving?

You will love it, especially with the control of the active exhaust. Deeeep tone with zero rasp or drone. Once it's broken in.......ugh.......sounds so good.

Thanks for the input. So how exactly do these open pipes "break in"? Whats your observation of the volume level in normal driving in quiet?

I have never driven my car in quiet mode.....ever.

As soot builds up in the pipes the tone changes.......it gets deeper. Most exhaust pieces do this.

:cwl: I get it, I'm weak.....
Interesting, had not considered the impact of the build up. Thanks for that!

The crossfire is 2.5” and not a 3” right?

I’m waiting to see if anyone puts it on with long tubes. I am trying to figure out a solution to drone with my Magnaflow Street.

I have to use quiet mode to get out of my subdivision when I leave for work at 5:30 AM and it is very quiet. I get on the highway and go right to Sport mode which always makes me smile. Sounds sooo good!

The only way to get rid of drone is to add a helmholtz resonator.

There are a few threads on how to DIY on here.

Look for @PKs on the Australian forums and he has some YouTube videos of his Switchfire on an FN with active exhaust.

I love it!
Active exhaust and switchfire pair very well.
I also have supercharger that made it more throaty at high rpm. Without the SC it was raspier over 4k rpm

That sounds really really good. But I was also concerned about the rasp.

The SC really made it perfect for me. Honestly, without it I wasnt sold out on it.
Maybe, as someone posted above here, I just had to wait for it to break in but I installed the SC 2 days after the switchfire. So who knows 🤷🏻‍♂️
