NT05s are probably the worst tire I've owned. On my old 2015 GTPP (NA) the car wouldn't hook below 50/60. Big Ole pedalfest. The kicker is, they're complete dog shit in the rain compared to other "uhp" summer tires.

I just put 315 35 20 nt555r2 on my 2018 and its been raining, so they do well in the rain haha. The small dry patch I found over the last few days, they did very well.

What fire pressure are yous running the R2s at on the street for best traction? Are you airing them down at all?

Nitto recommended 29-30 for street use and 20-22 for drag strip and 29-30 seems to work great on the street.

I have the NT05 in 305/35R19 they barely hook with my non boosted NA setup of 470/475 wheel. I’m boosting the car next month and know 100% i need better tires. Considering the 555R2. The NT05’s btw are fine in the rain they just aren’t sticky enough for boosted power. Regardless of what people are saying in the end the 555R2 are street radials and will be worse in the rain and cold weather driving than most tires including the NT05’s as even Nitto has then rated worse. But that really shouldn’t be a thought. Tires that hook on dry street and rain don’t go in the same sentence. Choose one or the other.

Nt555r2's also get my vote. 345 30 r19 here. We shall see how long they last. For the guy that said his nt05rs didn't even hook at na power did you have them on 60psi? They hooked for me from a 30ish 40ish roll at 600whp

I have 305/35/19 NT05’s on a VMP GEN3. When it’s above 85 degrees, they get decent traction rolling into first and second. Below that, hockey pucks. I swung my rear end out to the adjacent lane on the highway rolling into the throttle in 3rd gear at 2000RPM on a sunny 65 degree fall day. I’m going with NT555RII after winter

I plan on running the Nitro 555Rll, I know they will be a world's difference from the G2's. G2's suck with stock HP and I read rave reviews about them before I bought them.

G2’s were made to be a cornering tire. So from a dig they blow but the good news is that they are a very balanced tire because they blow in the corners also.

Yeah don't care much about the rain, never take the car out unless its dry. I only care about being able to hook. Seems like the 555R2s will be a good choice from what everyone has said so far!

I second the nitto nt555r2. I have a 16 auto roush charged car making about 630whp and it hooks pretty good on the street but at higher rolls. Might need a Mickey for dig or low rolls lol.

What wheel combo are you using to cram a 345 under there? Any side pics and wheel fitment pics?

Nitto 555RII all day every day for the street!

They are project 6gr Five in 19x10 front and 19x11.5 rear. I actually don't have pics of the side I will take some tomorrow. Side note with the stock rear shock mounts the tire was like 1mm away from touching, I used a die grinder with a sanding disc to give more clearance but plan on changing them out for ones that have 1/2 more clearance than the stock mounts just to be safe
