Negative values can be normal at idle/low rpm depending on the setup. It just means the supercharger is not spinning fast enough to provide positive pressure vs what the engine is sucking in. It should not show negative all the time though or when youre on throttle
It reads negative all the time because apparently you cant read the boost levels from OBD connection and thus why I got the "boost sensor kit" that connects to the gauge

I just went to the race track for the first time with a 18 procharged 350 and I learned not to drive in sport mode.....on the first laps the brakes started to smell and the advancetrac disabled lights came on....showed that abs and traction was turned off and powersteering was heavy.....after cooling and 2 more runs all lights came back to normal and only used track mode no issues after this....mechanic said never to run normal or sport on track due to supercharger making too much power for advancetrac to handle....

Main question is oil temps....on a hot 85F track day I was seeing 255F after a few laps so I would let it cool down to 240 and continue......any way to increase oil cooling for the track on a Procharger setup? We all agree 250F+ is too much for the track? Coolant temps were at 195F.... cylinder temps maybe 220F

I personally haven't hit the track yet, but from what I've seen being on the forums is 240F - 260F on a hot summer track day seems normal. I've seen people post about hitting 270F - 285F on hot track days before cooling down, but that seems high to me.

Hopefully an avid track day enthusiast can chime in.

anyone added an extra oil cooler like the Setrab from the FP350S? would it make sense to install a 60 row big oil cooler in front of the supercharged intercooler? or where else can we put it?

I think the engine goes into limp mode at 290F

280 seems pretty normal to see at the track, but more power means more heat. Probably why the 500 has the vented hood.

So it's pretty much confirmed by both companies that Whipple Gen 5 kit and VMP "Odin" kit will be getting CARB EO this year for the Voodoo.

Which would you prefer for your GT350?
Is there anything else out in the wild about the VMP kit? It seems like pretty sparse information to me. Tough call between the Whipple and the VMP option. Is the VMP a derivative of Magnacharger?

it looks pretty good to me. for sure it's early for the gt350 crowd and the odin but there's a guy on the FB boosted group that has it on his 350 and with the base kit (56inj and dual baps) with long tubes hit 806 rwhp on 93 lund tune. that's pretty mean. VMP has some good vids on it at their YT channel too.

Eaton rotors + magnuson supercharger = vmp?

Finally got a good pull after working out some gremlins on my car and tune revision

It started misfiring on the dyno after first pull with old tune -made about 830.
.
We first tried some colder brisk plugs but still did the same.

Misfire was on drivers side so swapped the coils which fixed the misfire but was then down on power. Plugs may have been too cold so went back to NGK and it did better like it did before first misfire .

I was may be expecting more but that's similar to what my 18 GT/Gen 5 whipple - made on the same dyno/pulley(3.0) so the dyno may just read low.

I am happy with it but may drop down to a 2.85 pulley ...currently on the 18GT which will be getting a 10 rib when I swap in its new motor. Its stock motor is still good and makes 900 whp with that pulley so I would expect the same with the GT350.

Engine is RPG sleeved Gen 1 block/Diamond 12:1 CR pistons /Manley rods. Heads are stock with valves spring upgrade/head studs. Stock headers with cat delete. Fuel is E85/lethal return with triple pumps. Spec SS twin disc clutch with QAI drive shaft. Rear end is stock but thinking of going to a 3.31 for drag racing

Lund did mention he does not think diamond makes a true 12:1 CR pistons and thinks its making torque like it 10:1 CR.

Motor is consuming some oil and may be losing some coolant so I may swap the motor at some point(will have RPG go through it ) for a spare I had built- a stock engine I had upgraded with Manley rods/ valve springs and upgraded phasers . Stock pistons so should be a true 12:1 CR.
it will be interesting to see if that motor will make more power .

Update .
So .. less than a year later , RPG built motor got pulled as it was was eating a lot of oil and coolant . Will had thought it was the Diamond pistons used In the build as they have issues that were NOT known at the time of the build.
So, my “spare “ motors came in handy.
This was an Alfonzo Novelllo build . Basic build starting with a never previously run voodoo (scored for cheap ) upgraded with Manley rods , replaced crank as old one was rusty (sitting in my storage for a year) , GT500 head gaskets , PAC valve spring upgrades and Head studs . Of course billet OPG / CS .
Added oil and coolant cross over lines .
Old motor is with RPG and has been torn down .
As he suspected the issue was the Diamond pistons wearing badly and a small head gasket leak .
He is refreshing the engine with new RPG spec Manley pistons , upgrading the Manley specific H rods to the Manley lightened I beams, GT 500 head gaskets and R phasers.

New motor is broken in after about 700 miles so decided to get a pull . On the street it definitely feels better than the one it replaced . It made more power on the dyno on a more humid day but pretty sure the belt is slipping on the 3 inch pulley and it broke on the second pull .
seeing barely 16 psi but should be closer to 17.5 per whipple chart (and last pull on old motor)
Logs look great ... I am happy where its at as I am sure the slip would be worse if I tried to go smaller on a 6 rib (I have a 2.85 pulley available)

sucks to be hear about the pistons. Any idea what they’re being replaced with?

how was the oil getting into the cupombustiom chamber? Past the rings?

RPG / Voodoo spec Manley’s. They won’t need the rod with the tapered end .

I will ask William if there was oil getting past the rings . I assume there was because the motor had a lot of blow by .

Considered trading it in for a GT 500 my dealer has .
I got to test drive the GT 500.... It’s “used “ but only has 35 miles on the ODO .
A customer bought 2 back to back and now wants to get rid of one 🤷‍♀️.
it’s very nice /refined and I loved the DCT.
its quick and sounds good
... bur it’s obviously not 900 whp quick and sound like a regular coyote with nice exhaust .
Quick enough though that it would be the first mustang I have had I think I would be able to refrain from “moding” especially since a replacement DCT would cost $30K ??

He also wants $91K for a base car . I think he paid $94K so must have paid ADM .
Plus they only want to give me “vroom “ price of about $47K .... built motor/whipple /CF drive shaft/fuel system and all (I guess its all worthless to them ) .

it’s a bad deal so not going to bite as I know I will likely regret it .

I do plan at some point to have a GT 500 along side the GT 350 ... but don’t think this is the car or right time .

I even considered trading 3 of my “lesser “ S550’s ( all 900-1100 whp cars ) but again they are only offering “stock” type cash and not considering any of the mods - the 15’s(both make 1000
whp ) and have built 5.2 motor‘s with GT 350 heads.
Motor in KB car is sleeved and Hellion car has new GT 350 block.

18 has stock motor and Gen 5 whipple and makes mid 900’s (have built 5.2 motor with Vodoo block waiting to swap with 10 rib upgrade and LPF built trans) .

.... I am sure they arev all “faster “ than the GT500 and I would be trading 3000 hp for 760. lol
... But if the price was right (for the GT 500 and my cars ) I would trade them in a heart beat .
I am going to try and sell the 15’s privately unless I can find a dealer who will give me what they are worth in trade (fat chance )
I considered returning them to stock and selling the power trains but that is a long shot and probably not worth the hassle .

pics of said car .. and
my “my lesser “ and undervalued S550’s .. Lol
... sorry for the diversion .
