Haven't fixed the rear roof/window glass drop, or the trunk/tail light alignment issues for 2016.

Luckily, I didn't have any rubbing issues with my panels, but I did have several issues which the body shop was only able to resolve a few of them (see my thread with photos here)

I do want to add into this thread the biggest issue that is annoying me...the trunk lid on my convertible. What's interesting, is the dealer I took it to had another car just like mine in the showroom, and it had the exact issue with the trunk lid that mine has (apparently a bad stamping tool?) :frusty: It also had all the other same issues, especially with the corners of the bumpers where they meet the fenders. The dealer did a great job fixing those on mine, and was a real eye sore so I was glad about getting those fixed. The one in their showroom had a blend date of 02/13/15, while mine was blended 12/04/14....so it looks like QC isn't catching these issues or they just don't care. :tsk:

Also, I've noticed the hood issues not lining up perfectly with the fenders, but I only really notice it when I feel for it...no that noticeable just looking at it. The bottom of the doors issue isn't THAT terrible, and the dealer said it is normal to allow the swing of the door, but still looks weird to me. I can live with that. Again, it is the trunk lid that really ticks me off, and I'll be keeping an eye on the 2016s when they roll out to see if they finally fix the trunk lids and get mine replaced once they do have it fixed.

If there was an easy fix, they wouldn't wait until a new model year. Most likely this is some systemic issue with the manufacturing process and could take years to fix, if ever.

I can live with the unsightly panel gaps (within reason), but I draw the line when the trunk is touching another panel and causing paint damage.

The problem is, I don't think it the trunk itself that's the problem, it all lines up almost perfectly everywhere except the spot where it rubs.. at that corner, it looks twisted, or mis-aligned with the rest of the car. So I think the car itself is not straight and they would probably be unable to fix it.

I'm kind of tempted to make them try anyway, and just keep rejecting the fix until it's perfect. I wonder what they say to me if they eventually gave up?

What are you gonna do about it?

I'm reading about the lemon law here in AZ.. Ford gets 4 attempts or 30 days total to try and fix it.. otherwise they have to replace or refund.

I'm pretty sure they would be unable to fix it properly no matter how much time I gave them.

It's very tempting to go this route and see what happens.

More and more people should post pictures about the bad issues and report all over North America to the BBB. Also that cars like ours have "only" a sticker price of $45,000 plus - we shouldn't be dealing with this poor panels and parts. Only looking at the TY trunk lid and left quarter panel makes me nuts. You guys in the USA have lemon laws. I would try everything that FORD has to take back all this twisted Mustangs. It is a shame that FORD calls them 50 year anniversary models.

So any suggestions what I should do? It will be two weeks tomorrow since the dealership said they approved getting me new rear glass for my car. I spoke with my rep at the dealer one day and he said it was paid for so that was good. Left a message yesterday and he didn't return my call. I called him today and got in touch with him and he said they dont have any tracking info yet and sent me to his managers voice mail. Any suggestions what I should be doing, this dealership has very poor customer service. Leaving me in the dark for too long now

You should get in touch and work with a Ford CSM (area manager). PM FordService on here and have them open a ticket with Ford, and a CSM should give you a call within a few days.

That's BS on their part.

First of all, you should not be following up with them...that is their damn job. Mine called, text, or emailed me everyday.

Secondly, it does not take long to get the glass. Mine was delayed 1 day; ordered on a Monday or Tuesday and was suppose to arrive Thursday. Instead it was Friday.

Sounds like your dealer is jerking you around or just plain sucks. Service advisor needs to light a fire on the parts managers ass to find out what the f@cking problem is in getting the glass.

Sorry to hear man.:tsk:

I have not had a lot of success with Sonja Ortiz my CSM, if you miss her call and return it she will not reply to a voice mail. Tried a couple of times. Spoke to her once when this whole process started but gave up trying to reach her because it is too difficult.

Jeff who checks in on these posts does a good job, but my dealer and CSM are lackluster.

Thanks, I appreciate that. This is how bad the dealer was the first time. I asked them if it was normal if the oil pressure should be so high when you start the car on the first day that i brought my car in for body panel adjustments. They kept my car at the dealer all day without working on the car and called me 8 hours later saying they couldnt find anything out about the oil and didn't even start on the car. I was livid, they told me the phone works both ways and I should have called them to check in on the car. Like i was supposed to know they weren't doing anything all day.
