They found out that my rear hub bearing was making a noise. So they had to order that. Now they just gotta test drive it to see if anything else is wrong.

Has anyone tried to fix this issue themselves? This is where the rear bumper fascia attaches to the rear quarter panel at the driver's side tail light.

I wonder if the seam can be reached from under the vehicle or by removing the tail light and/or trunk trim panels? Seems like it could be fixed by moving the fascia further outward to line up better with the quarter panel.

The passenger side could use some fine tuning as well in the same area, but it's not nearly as noticeable.

That's why the car should be in the bodyshop.
Honestly I never did see a new car looking that bad then the 2015 Mustang. Wrong dashboards, leather, wheel well covers looking like rats chewed them off, engine lights coming on, panel issues. Don't get me wrong. I love this car. But it looks like that they QC is "playing" auto scooter with the new cars. My bumpers look the same and people asked me already if I had parking issues because they look like they got some small hits already. Makes me sad every time a members is posting pictures like yours and reminds me what our neighbors always saying. "Ford has one of the worst quality of American cars you can buy." :(

Not one of our Jeep, Journey or Suzuki looked brand new that bad!

It's really embarrassing when someone sees my panels out of alignment and the waving and creases in them and they ask "what happened to your brand new car?".

Ask them if they'd be interested in working as Quality Control inspectors at the Mustang Plant ...

My panels are in pretty good shape, however, as I posted previously in this thread, my passenger door rubs the foam insulation in the passenger side front fender. The door also just barely clears the front fender by less than a hair's width when opening the door. It's not noticeable when the door is closed. Minor problem that I'm in no hurry to fix. It will be interesting to see if it becomes a problem in the summer due to metal expansion from the heat. If so, I'll have to put it in the body shop.

My car does attract attention, usually because of its good looks, but not always. Sometimes people turn around when I stop the first couple of times in the morning -- that's when they hear an ear-piercing brake squeal from my car that's worthy of a UPS truck or a school bus with worn brakes. I just shrug my shoulders and tell 'em Ford is still working the bugs out and drive off. LOL.

Have you contacted your dealership about the brakes and the TSB?

Fortunately only three people noticed the panels and commented on them. Most drool over it.

I'm in the process of going through the Lemon Law and sent Ford my 10 day notice for the last attempt to repair my car. So far they have refused to fix it which really pisses me off since I pointed it all out to the dealership when I took delivery and they said it would be fixed. Ford denied the warranty claim stating that it's within tolerance. My passenger door rubs the fender when the door is opened too and they say it's normal, WTF! We'll see how they respond now, I already heard from the State Attorney General's office and nothing from Ford so far. They have until Friday to respond or we go to mediation.

I really love the car and just want it fixed or replaced so I can move on and enjoy it. The whole thing is killing the new car experience. I want to take it to Steeda already and replace the shitty stock clutch line because I hate this clutch! I'm planning several mods from Steeda since they are only 10 minutes away.

I love my car, too. The things Ford got right, they really got right. Fortunately, that's just about everything. The few things they got wrong, they really got wrong, too. The most obvious of the things they got wrong are the panels. Misaligned panels should be the easiest quality issue to spot for the factory quality control folks, yet Ford ships some of them as-is right on to the dealer and they get delivered to the customer with panel alignment issues. In 2015 that's the last kind of poor quality I would expect to see from Ford. Faulty electronics, sync, phones that don't pair, new high-tech engine features with issues -- that kind of problem I would expect in the first year of production. But chronic panel misalignment? How long has Ford been making cars?? That should've been taken care of with the prototypes. Shaking my head. I've filled out my J.D. Powers survey already. Ford will eventually get the message.

I've been monitoring the forums but haven't heard that Ford has a fix for the brake squeal. If there is a fix, and it really works, then I'll schedule time with my dealer for them to look at it. It's been awhile since I checked the forums for the brake squeal -- will do that later today.

Good luck with your fixes!

Thanks! Good luck with yours too.
There's definitely a fix for the brakes and the people that have gotten the fix are happy with the results.

I had that same problem on my car along with several other panel alignment issues, dealer fixed all of them before I would take delivery, although he did say the mismatch on bumper cover to left rear quarter panel was a little tricky but they managed to get a perfect aligment. It can be fixed if their willing.

There have been over 40k cars sold and about 800 owners on this forum and 50% of those forum members have reported issues. That is a tiny % of issues in the grand scheme of things.

Not downplaying their issues at all as they do need to be fixed. My car is perfect for example. I just truly believe, as the numbers above show, these are isolated QC issues.

Yes but this is one of many forums. I'm glad to see some people got perfect cars. I'm sure from what I've seen on numerous forums the number is much higher than 1%. I have the same bumper and hood issue that I've seen other with. I'm scheduled next Saturday to drop to car off and have a Ford engineer look at it. They already told me as far as the bumper goes to fix it might make it worse. Don't know if they know what their talking about. I'm going to have the dealer ask the engineer about it. If they can't fix my hood I'm going to put in a lemon law claim.

I will add to this. Most people here would not have noticed if not for this forum. How many didn't notice their rear window for months until someone else did. Then they go look and, sure enough....

I've been looking closer at other cars now, not just mustangs, and see just as many issues. 50% of the cars out there aren't perfect (at a glance). The outgoing cars especially, but it wasn't as noticed due to larger gaps. Realistically it's not worse or no better than other price competitive cars.

The Internet tends to make small problems seem larger.

I will also say that there are people here who have gotten some things that are unacceptable. Those are a very small percentage of the total here and probably mimic real world results.
