Most people not noticing is not an excuse, IMO.
You can fix the attachment from the quarter panel to the bumper, but you can't align the panel at the lights. It is designed to be aligned on the inside, next to the light housing. The CAD drawing and the engineering tolerances show that the bumper is designed narrower than the quarter panel, so there should be a step on the outside of the light housing.Has anyone tried to fix this issue themselves? This is where the rear bumper fascia attaches to the rear quarter panel at the driver's side tail light.
I wonder if the seam can be reached from under the vehicle or by removing the tail light and/or trunk trim panels? Seems like it could be fixed by moving the fascia further outward to line up better with the quarter panel.
The passenger side could use some fine tuning as well in the same area, but it's not nearly as noticeable.
I'm here, JoeySD. Are you having an issue with your Pony's alignment? Send me a PM; I'll check out the situation.has anyone from Ford commented about all of this yet ??? It's concerning....

If the number really is 50% of forum members having body panel alignment issues I would actually draw the opposite conclusion - that Ford has a significant issue with QC. 800 cars is a large enough sample size that I would assume it'd be fairly representative of the general population. There have been over 40k cars sold and about 800 owners on this forum and 50% of those forum members have reported issues. That is a tiny % of issues in the grand scheme of things.
Not downplaying their issues at all as they do need to be fixed. My car is perfect for example. I just truly believe, as the numbers above show, these are isolated QC issues.
Sounds like "fuzzy numbers" to me. Where do the numbers 800 owners on this forum and 50% of those forum members come from? There have been over 40k cars sold and about 800 owners on this forum and 50% of those forum members have reported issues. They come from a poll that was conducted on this site where the forum members voted.Sounds like "fuzzy numbers" to me. Where do the numbers 800 owners on this forum and 50% of those forum members come from?
Did some searching, and I see the owner registry with about 800 owners. I'd have to look harder, or you could embed the link, where the poll shows 400 of those owners have issues. I used the term "fuzzy" because I highly doubt all 800 of those owners voted on whatever poll you are referring to.They come from a poll that was conducted on this site where the forum members voted.
The 800 owners was complied by Jarstang on a different owners thread. No fuzziness here.
