"Jeffola": I want to apologize for my snarky comments! It's one thing to drive your new car home and then to find defects. It's another, to find out that Ford hasn't been able to fix your problem. Do you have a 'lemon' law in your state? In my state, the manufacturer has three chances to fix the problem(s). After that, they have to refund ALL of your money or give you a new car!
Your situation (and others like you) is why I have told my dealer that I will spend as much time as necessary inspecting my convertible, before I sign the check. If I find any problems, they have to be fixed before I accept the car.
Near where I live, there used to be a Ford van in a yard next to the Interstate, the owner had put up a billboard-sized sign: "Ford refuses to fix my van under warranty". Ford cared less about thousands of cars driving by each day and seeing that sign. My convertible has been on hold for a month, along with 4,000 others...Ford could care less about the bad publicity.

Do you honestly believe that? What about the first batch of cars that were on hold for over a month before they shipped? These same holds happened when the 2011 5.0's were built and came out. Holds are always going to happen.

Why not let your car sit there and have whatever the issue is get fixed before it ships? You all have to remember, the membership on this board is such a small % of Mustang owners. I believe right now we have about 800 Mustang owners and there have been what, 30k cars sold? That is 2.6%. Very, very small subset of data.

I am not discounting the fact of problems being reported cause, they are for sure legitimate, no doubt about that. I would be upset as an owner with how some of these cars look as well.

Tsunami, no worries, I am not either thin skinned or upset.

Todd15Fastback and Tsunami, how do we know about the 4000 soft tops on hold? Makes me wonder if they have an issue like I am facing? I don't for a second believe that Ford doesn't care, not in the least. This car is a legacy of the last 50 years, and a car they plan on shipping all over the world, they want it right. AND ITS SO DAM CLOSE. I can't wait to get mine back. I will post an update to the thread shortly about newer information on Gossamer.

I am not sure what the hold is on. I have heard the 4000 number tossed around a lot. I am curious myself what is going on for the rest of the folks waiting for their cars.

Jeffola - I hope everything is fixed perfectly for you. I hate seeing issues like this as the car is fantastic in every aspect. I am in love with mine and it is perfect so far.

Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight:frusty::frusty:

Every other car manufacturer ships perfect vehicles, right? Ford is the only one that doesn't care about build quality:lol::thumbsup:

No comment on my 2.6% people on this board that own mustangs and the fact it appears 50% of them have issues. Pretty small subset of issues, huh?

The 4000 number was the amount of cars that Flat Rock produces in 6 days. That was 2 /2 through 2 /9. And that likely also includes the other car they produce there at flat rock. So probably not just Mustangs in that 4000 number. But definitely not just convertibles. But all cars produced at flat rock in those 6 business days.

Jeffola: I did not say that 4,000 convertibles had been put on hold from the first 10 days of Feb Build! I said 4,000 Mustangs. This was confirmed to me by Rachel, Ford Service, when I first inquired about why my car had not moved from "Waiting for Shipment" when the build had finished on 2/10. She did not say why they were on hold, just that they were on hold. Since then, my car has stayed at "Waiting for Shipment" while the EDD keeps getting shoved two weeks further into the future at each update.

Thats crazy, why would they be holding cars? Build quality?

My dealer called me to advise that THEY DID FIND THE PART and don't have to replace the entire top. They wan tot hold the car until its all done.

I see a light at the end of the tunnel.

Night all!

If this doesn't work out, I am giving up on the convertible and going with a 2016 GT350.

My ecoboost has the same issue. Drivers door is sunk in a lil bit. And my passenger door needs to be adjusted cause the window catches the trim cause a clunk sound when opening the door.
