Pop it with the palm of your hand. The only other way would be to take it apart and elongate the mounting block screw holes and/or file the tabs and tab slots a bit in the direction you want it to go.

The toughest part of the whole thing is removing the subwoofer, if you have one, to get access to the tail light housings. While you're at it, you can also shim the lights to match the bumper, fender and trunk lid and lid panel, if they're out of alignment. I used thin washers from Ace Hardware on my lights and trunk lid parts.

I tried to make it pop several times, it just doesn't want to snap in place. Yesterday I started to disassemble it but kinda up when I was at the sub-woofer. Instead I called the dealer to check if my replacement puddle lights are already in stock and told them I want to get this gap fixed as well... they said ok, call back on Monday to check if the puddle lights are and make an appointment.

Except for the trunk at the top everything is fine. My trunk got better a little bit by twisting a screw about 2 turns up on the sliding mechanism where the airlift/pump is located.

I just took my car in yesterday because of all the panel issues. Mine was so bad I had water coming in from under the door onto the driverside floor. They are taking the front fenders off and realigning the doors this week. This is all covered by warranty btw so take it in. Also im having the same problem that most are with the gas cap not lining up because a screw came out or whatever. Shit is sad this is my first mustang and first ford car honestly never again.

It is. You shouldn't have to "fix" the body on
a new car. I just don't get it. Yeah, things break. That's what warranties are for.
And you may have a loose trim or scratched window moulding or repairing minor delivery damage but removing panels, rear glass, debris in paint and misalignments are inexcusable brought on by poor workmanship. That's not what the dealer should be tasked to do. It's like saying We don't give a crap. You'll buy it anyway.
Corporate mentality is push the line speed to the order demand to fulfill quarterly revenue
Forecasts and when the cost of the warranty claims exceed the budget we'll worry about fixing it.

Yep. Front wheel gouged to the bare metal, alignment out of spec, and steering wheel off-center. Took it back in to be corrected, and according to their own print-out, THEY MADE IT WORSE! Despite denying any responsibility, at least they refinished the ruined wheel at their own expense. I ended up having to take the car to another shop to get a proper alignment.

That sucks man. How much did the other shop charge you to align the panels?

Oops... just realized you were talking about panel alignment, not wheel alignment. I automatically think wheel alignment when I see "alignment". Sorry.

My panel alignment issues were dismissed with the standard "that's by design" excuse, so they are all still as delivered.

Of course they would dismiss it. Ray Charles is their QC at Ford unfortunately. The guys at my dealership actually gasped when they saw how bad my passenger side is so i know it wont pass their so called standards.

I took mine in last year for multiple panel issues, and a lot of them were adjusted with no issues. They scrubbed the trunk issues as "normal" since they had another convertible in the showroom with the same issue. A few weeks ago I took her back in for multiple small issues and also had them revisit the trunk lid issues, since that really bugs me. They had their body shop try and adjust the trunk lid and they apparently "cracked" the pain, so had to repaint the trunk lid. I pick up the car tomorrow so I'll be curious how it looks. I kind of expected them to replace the entire lid anyway so the repainting doesn't both me that much.

Man, 2 months and a 1000 miles, bam! Maybe it will just fall off?

The first giant sideways pic is the drivers side gap. I can see the clips I believe. This was not like this when I purchased it. The 2nd sideways giant pics is the passenger side. At the end of the bumper near the wheel it is very tight with the quarter panel overlapping the bumper. It was like this at purchase and I was fine with it due to knowing about Ford Mustang QC sucking.

Dealer I purchased from does not have a body shop. Not sure if normal techs mess with this or not. Has anyone self fixed the rear bumper gaps?

According to my body shop, the clips for the bumper cover may have some play, but not truly adjustable.
