Alright so I know this has been talked about for a long time since the MT82 came out but I got amazing news! Ever since I got my Ecoboost MT82 2 years ago, I never liked the shifter feel and clutch, I did the clutch spring upgrade from steeda the first month I had it, then did a X-Clutch kit a couple of months in, I recently started getting really bad shifter engagement feeling where when I would just be cruising, when I shift into like 1st, 2nd, 3rd etc. It would have a crunchy feeling going into gear, so i added a ford performance short shifter and the steeda shifter mount and bushing, I then changed my fluid to BG and was good until cold starts and cold weather driving, symptoms got worse so I went with valvoline synchromesh and worked wonders in cold and hot however the crunchiness is still there and started feeling lockout, I upgraded the rear diff Bushings which was a total pain because of the front Bushings up against the fuel tank, shifting started feeling a little better but horrible clunk from the rear which I assume was bad deflection between the soft trans distributing load and rotational energy to stiff differential, so I ordered a boomba trans mount that was in stock and of course got an email for 6 week backorder so canceled it and got a energy suspension trans insert and now... ITS BUTTERY SMOOTH!! I took it on a drive today and normal street driving, the clunk from the rear Bushings are gone (I am 90% sure it was deflection from soft trans to stiff diff bushings) and the lockout is gone even on hard acceleration merging on to the freeway, every gear is notchy but no crunchiness (felt like grinding but wasnt). I am going to get a blowfish shifter to trans mount brace to not have it chassis mounted anymore but so far I love the feeling of the MT82 now! Also I have a 2019 so I got the revisioned mt82 if that helps but wanted to give me feedback and input incase anyone only does one of these mods and gets similar issues or feelings from the drivetrain. Now motor mounts are next!

I have a similar setup on my base 2022 GT. UPR diff bushing inserts, Steeda shifter bracket and bushing, Steeda trans mount bushing insert, Steeda short throw street shifter, and running Motul Multi DCTF. Shifting is direct and smooth most of the time, and a big improvement over stock.

When downshifting from 3rd to 2nd I sometimes get hesitation or lockout. Have to be patient with it and it will go. Rev matching helps. Full throttle upshifts from 1st to 2nd at > 6k rpm also sometimes hesitates noticeably. I think 2nd gear synchro is to blame in both cases. Heck, it will hesitate going from neutral straight to 2nd just idling at rest. I'm switching the fluid to Ravenol MTF-2 75W-80 soon since that helped someone else here with the same issue.

my GT (all bushings installed, FP short, Steeda bracket) does this sometimes. The other day it failed 5 times in a row. I just let the clutch out or shift into 4th for a moment and then back to 2 to 'clear'. After that spate of "no way am I going into 2nd" it's been fine. Go figure. Only 34K miles. When I do all the other fluids I guess I'll add the trans to the menu.

Do you think a braided SS clutch line is a worthwhile swap for the OEM plastic unit? I'm NA and plan to stay that way for now. Also plan to do some NASA HPDE track days so maybe that will tend to overheat and soften the stock clutch line? Not sure.

I'd say the issue isn't SS vs plastic, it's too short by 1" vs correct length. I have no reason to suspect the lockout is a result of air in the system, but rather something temperamental in the syncro.

But if you're gonna do HPDE, yeah removing a source of air contamination of brake fluid would be on my TODO
