Like the title says. Just purchased the MGW shifter. I have the Steeda trans mount rubber insert already. Should I leave it in or remove? Anyone running both?

I had one but when I installed the MGW I removed it. The reason I installed it was to quit missing the 2-3 shift. With the MGW I had no reason to keep it. I would also get a low rpm low speed vibration in the floor pan after I installed the bushing. It did take care of about 80% of the sloppiness in the stock shifter though.

Thanks for the replys. I was thinking more along how NVH would possibly increase with the direct mounted shifter. I agree the bushing made a world of difference on the stock shifter.

You can always drill a ~1" hole in the big flat part on the bottom of the bushing to alleviate the NVH issues. I drilled mine before I installed it so I don't know what it would have felt like originally but I don't feel like it added any harshness to the car.

Isn't the MGW a transmission mounted shifter only? Meaning the MGW shifter is not connected to the body at all?

The Steeda trans mount insert is designed to reduce movement of the entire transmission so that the stock body-mounted shifter will perform better.

Although I have not tested this, I suspect the Steeda bushing will only increase NVH, and will not actually help with shifts when paired with a transmission mounted shifter.

My thoughts exactly, why I posed the question in the first place. The bushing is easy to remove so i will leave it in for now.

I had the trans mount installed and it did increase noise in the car. I had it on for maybe 2 months and on Thursday I drilled a 7/8 hole in the flat part and it did away with the majority of the noise and maybe a little vibration. The part itself didn't add too much vibration to begin with IMO.
The part itself added such a benefit to the stock shifter I didn't want to get rid of it. I am installing an MGW in a month.
