Contacted BMR with the following info:

For CB007, even after punching out the holes that Ford left and filing all around, both spacers on either side do not fit. There's no way to slide the spacers in unless I file down 1-2mm on each spacer; is this fine to do or will I end up crushing the front subframe?

For CB762, the left front braces' two 15mm holes do not line up properly. The only way I could get it to align was without the bottom thick gold washer on the long 19mm bolt. My friend and I tried prying the brace to get the two 15mm bolts aligned into their holes but couldn't no matter what. We didn't loosen the cradle plate since it appears the instructions are for an older version with a piece that slides under the cradle plate.

Am pretty disappointed my friend and I spent a whole afternoon working on these and couldn't install either part. Anyone that's ran into the same issues have any suggestions?

too much of a close up. I cannot tell what bolt holes those are.

Is your IRS centered?

Steeda, just saying.:)

I've had a shop install lowering springs, could that have messed something up? Those 2 bolts are these 2 next to the cradle link

Should I just drill out more area to the left of the holes to make them line up

I wouldn't drill out anything. If it doesn't fit, something is off. It might be the BMR kit, might be your subframe.

Have you done the subframe alignment dowels and bushings?
nope... didn't know I needed that

Try that first. I think the Steeda kit is relatively cheap for both. I don't know about the BMR kit, or if they even have one. I suspect your subframe is slightly tweaked, which is why it doesn't line up.

Ref your front brace, I got caught with the same issue, but in reverse :

After waiting for the Steeda spacers for the front brace (missing in my delivery), it was obvious that they weren’t a good fit on my car - not Steeda’s fault as they are trying to hit a moving target. On my car I had very little deformation of the cross member and very few burrs on the internal faces which meant the Steeda spacers were very loose and wouldn’t have done anything to stop me crimping the cross member. I know Steeda have been criticised in the past for the spacers being too tight so I am guessing Steeda have reduced the spacer height over time and then Ford must have just refreshed the punch tooling ... lol. New v old spacers :

New spacers are larger diameter, 2.5mm taller and made from stainless.

I have obviously lost the ‘tail’ that would help with fitment, but with a bit of care and attention the new spacers are still easily positioned without issue and with hindsight, I probably could have got them made another mm taller.

Large diameter thick gauge stainless washers will be used to further spread the load along with flange nuts for the topside (Standard Steeda stuff on the left) :

Ref your rear braces, drop a rear subframe bolt out and look directly up the bore.

They are a piss poor fit, but the bore and threaded hole should at least be reasonably concentric - I suspect yours aren’t and if so, one of the dowel kits will fix it :like:

Not mine, but you get the idea :

Your new spacers look just like mine from BMR lol. Thinking I should just file them down until they fit + combine them with big boy washers

I should have done this yesterday but I'll try measuring the distance between the holes I've been struggling with on both sides to see if the the concentricity is the issue

Yeah, I get why Ford designed the rear the way they did. But it's shit if the guy putting the car together that day is hung over or for whatever reason, don't give a shit about quality workmanship.

Well I think I'll just use one of these cheap extenders to pry the brace over like in this cj vid

It that doesn't work out comes the drill. Honestly not trying to mess with with subframe bolts and stuff

loosen all the big 4 IRS bolts and then put in the centering collars. I might have a kit at the house, or I can make you some out of delrin on the lathe. If your IRS isn't bang-on centered, the exercise is futile.

That is how you end up with pops and squeaks.

Well got cb007 installed thanks to my friend who took an angle grinder and ground down the spacers by 1mm. Still took us a metricshitton of hammering to get it centered for the bolt tho :asshat:

Will tackle cb762 another day

This is the part of aftermarket parts they don't tell you about in the commercial. If after you loosen everything involved you can't get all the parts to agree on a middle ground, you then have to resort to the school of smack it, grind it, file it and bend it.
