
Let me just say driving our 2015 GT with the only modifications being the axle back and this shifter bracket the car drove amazing with the stock shifter, I can't imagine how it's going to drive once we get an aftermarket shifter in there.OK. I had an auto on my last Mustang and the ragtop took priority over performance so this is rather new to me.
My understanding is that the new transmission has a shifter which mounts to the body of the car and not the transmission itself. This is causing the shifting experience to degrade. This bracket mounts the remotely located shifter onto the transmission. The result is an improvement in the shifting. I am guessing this also allows for a short throw shifter to be installed as well.
Does it mitigate the need for a new shifter? Is it possible this may improve the shifting to a degree that I can wait for a short throw shifter?

Can anyone confirm the information on the MGW? One area that I want to improve is the shifting as this is a DD and stop and go traffic sucks in a manual. I would like to make it suck less.I believe the new MGW shifter is supposed to incorporate this kind of bracing built in, i could be wrong though.

It fixes the basic problem instead of band-aiding it. Not to say that the MGW and other offerings are bad band-aids, only that they do not address the root issue. I'm a retired structural guy with a little understanding of mechanical topics, and Blowfish's approach is very much the path I'd follow (even while keeping as many of the OE shifter parts as possible).On the Blowfish bracket, I really like the idea of it, but not sure why it's so much money. I guess when something is patented the market is yours, but I think they'd sell more at a somewhat lower price point.
I thought the description said the MGW eliminates the need for the Blowfish bracket. That implies to me that it mounts to the transmission. The thing I am not crazy about is the fact that reverse is on the far side near 5th gear.From the pics I saw of it on another forum it just has a traditional rear mount. It looks like a really cool shifter though, replacing even more stuff vs the 2011-2014 shifters.

How do you think the increased NVH could be offset?The bad: price, at close to $300 for some pieces of metal with no moving parts it's hard to justify. I would have priced it at $150-180. Also, vibration is up by at least 50% over a modded shifter/mount and easily double over stock.
The good: noise is similar to the common shifter/bracket combos. Install is very easy with only a few common tools required. Can easily be done in a driveway with jack stands.
From the MGW threadAs far as I know the mgw does not fully mount to the transmission like the blowfish bracket facilitates.
I took this to mean it was somehow attached to the transmission. I could be wrong....
in any event... the new shifter will....
- have 25-30 percent reduction in throw.
- have internal return springs for a much better 2-3 shift.
- have nickel boron treated 1 inch long front and rear support bushings rather than the .280" thick plastic bushings which are the SAME as the 2011-2014 and have been proven to NOT provide enough support for racing and hard shifting.
- will eliminate the oem linkage rod which has 4 ( four!!!!!!! :eyebulgeswivel joints because the transmission is shifting up and offcenter of the shifter. We have a cnc machined steel linkage rod that will come right out of the centerline of the output shaft and into our shifter box. this will give a solid smooth " top loader" feel to the shifter.
- the rear support bracket will have interchangeable inserts of different durometer( hardness) for street and track duty. They will provide much much more support and rigidity than the oem bracket.
- the front arm design will absolutely negate the need for a trans bracket.
We get a lot of feedback about how it must be solid mounted to the trans and not the body.
