I couldn't care less about BLIS but cross traffic alert is great. You can adjust mirrors to not have any blind spots big enough for a car. As a long time motorcycle rider, anyone riding a bike quiet enough to be unheard in that tiny blind spot long enough for me to forget he got there is crazy and tempting Darwin.

Love the BLIS system in our Explorer. Up until this car I have always been able to adjust my mirrors such that I had no blind spot, but between the third row head rests and the huge D pillar, I have not found a blindspot free adjustment to the mirrors. With the third row down, the blindspot is only the size of a car so it's incredibly rare that a car can stay in the blindspot, but the BLIS is a nice double check. I would guess with a smaller car like the Mustang the BLIS is less necessary, especially with the spotter mirror. However, I do plan to get it simply because I'm used to it on the Explorer and the cross traffic is nice when it works. There are just so many false alarms. I'm hoping Ford has made improvements in the last several years to limit those.

I don't think BLIS its "needed" on the Mustang but you may not get the spotter mirror if you have BLIS. I saw Mustangs on the lot without the spotter mirrors and believe they were the cars that had BLIS.

This is correct. Cars with BLIS do not have the "Blind Spot" portion in the corner of the mirror.

I wish I had it just for the memory seats.

Yes Mustangs that are equipped with BLIS do not come with spotter mirrors.

I skipped the 401A because I don't need any of the features. Visibility is great out of the Mustang and the spotter mirrors create no blindspots. I'm the only one that drives my car and the seats are already all the way back so I never need for them to move. The upgraded stereo is nice but it's still not that great. I'd rather spend that money on decent aftermarket speakers.

I think the BLIS/CTA needs to be put in the rear sensor package...I hate the way they bundle the 401A.

Yeah. I wanted 401A but think its despicable to make someone buy adjustable color interior lights, better stereo, etc. to get safety features. Ford isn't the only one though but some others have woken up; Ford needs to join them.

While I don't have 401A or 201A (same thing for Ecoboost), I've had other cars with BLIS. In all honestly, it can be useful, but often gives me false alarms and annoys me. It's not necessary in the Mustang because of the awesome convex mirror parts you get when you don't have BLIS.

300A - 400A - 400A - Oh so many options

Still trying to decide on a base GT or premium. I can always get bass GT and add the leather later. But the standard Shaker is so meh. :tsk:

Just got mine, my thoughts:
I really like the blis but don't know that it's needed. I really really miss the little convex mirrors that my focus st had though... But it's learned behavior.

The shaker really impressed me, but I'm also past the point in my life where I need to feel the bass... As long as it's clear and sounds good is all I care about... Shaker delivered

And I'd buy again.

I am so happy with it, I am going to trade my wife's car in so that she can have it. When we bought her car she didn't want it, but after driving the Mustang with it, she wants it.
