interesting.

i dont really notice any issues currently, but i figured i would change out the fluid for shiggles. Its not very expensive and is a quick and easy job.

The only thing i have is going into first from neutral sometimes is clunky. It will literally make a thunk sound. Nothing too concerning, just weird.
Going into third gear sometimes i feel a slight biting / grinding in the shifter.
*edit* waht kind of shifter were you looking at? the x spec or the standard?

Does Optimum or BC bribe dealers to do this? LoL

I took my GT in to have them check on a slight clunk in the drive train. Somehow they got off on a tangent about vibration and ended up draining the BC from both the trans and the diff. The trans because they could feel a little vibration thru the trans mounted MGW shifter and didn't realize Ford used a shifter mounted to the body just to avoid that. Then while checking for the clunk, they noticed if you turn one rear wheel on the lift, the other wheel didn't turn and concluded the diff was shot. So they drained it to take a look inside. I know the Torsen works differently than a clutch type but not enough about it to know if both wheels should turn when you slowly turn one on a lift. On a clutch type, both should turn the same way, on an open the other should turn the opposite direction. I just hope they don't decide to replace the Torsen if its not really bad. Still, considering some of the dealer horror stories making the rounds, I am grateful they didn't use the line-lock to confirm a bad diff. LoL.

So I'll be ordering another combo package soon. Maybe wait until hot weather returns.

I currently have the MGW shifter, and I am still feeling some clunkiness in the shifting. I have about 30k miles on my car right now. I have heard great things about this fluid, but will it really help that much? Do I need both the trans and diff fluid to experience the difference? I know people are posting that the difference is night and day, but after 30k miles, I don't know if it will help. This is my first manual car, so I never experience the difference in a fluid change.

I'm kind of bummed because when my car was brand new, the shifter was butter smooth. A couple thousand miles later, I started noticing notchines in 2nd and 3rd. I got the MGW and it definitely gave it a more precise feel, but still having issues, mainly with 2nd gear.

I have 35k on my GT with MGW and BG Fluid installed 8k ago. I have only one complaint, its the 1st to 2nd or 3rd to 2nd shifts. It's just not as smooth as I want it to be.

Give this a try, you won't regret it.

PM me if you want more input on my switch from BG to MOTUL. (note) I've been a BG user for over a decade. Just saying......

After switching to BG in the MT82 about 3k miles ago I can not say there was a night and day difference. It was a little better for the 1st to 2nd shift when the trans was cold, but once it warmed up I could not tell a difference. Also, now that the car has 34k on it the trans shifts much smoother that when it was new. I think it's just the nature of the beast.

I had my transmission worked on along with a new clutch. Dealer put in their fluid, but I didn't know at the time they had to drain it. I called up after picking the car up and asked them specifically if they replaced the fluid with Motorcraft, they said yes. Why did I call and ask? Because it was notchy all of a sudden. I ordered more BG and put it in, issue gone. I have 40K miles on my car. Your mileage may vary but it makes a difference for me.

Thanks for the feedback. Sounds like 2nd is just a PITA in general. Maybe I will do the fluid swap in the future, but I will probably just wait at this point.

I changed the fluid in mine with the Motorcraft DCT fluid spec'd in the manual when I put the blowfish bracket on my car and was happy with how it performed for 1,000 or so miles. I noticed it was getting notchy again so I changed the fluid to the BG SSII fluid and the difference was noticeable. I won't describe it as night and day but it was pretty significant. No missed shift issues on the track. Highly recommend the Blowfish bracket.

Cracked 70k miles today, so I've had the BG fluid in for approx 35k miles. Butter smooth all the time (even in the cold) coupled with my MGW shifter.

I am pretty certain this is all in the adjustment pin.

Hey Brian, I just don’t think it is because with the car off it shifts perfect, no notch. Engine load and there’s notch. How could that be the pin?

You're supposed to use the clutch to take loads off the gears when shifting ...

Looking at using this in my trans. Sitting only at 8k now. Did you use the mt82 additive or just the motul?
