Warranty: It has to be proven to cause a failure. I have not heard of a single documented denial based on fluid used in an MT-82. Several Ford and GM dealers sell BG Products in their service departments. BG Synro Shift II has a long history and again, no documented 'cause of failure' that we are aware of. BG Lifetime Driveline Service is a program that we are not involved in, obviously we ship product all over the world so we are not controlling the installation. The products we offer are the same ones used in the service centers. Installing the fluid yourself is not the issue as much as it needs to be proven whatever product was installed was the cause of the failure.

A very small number of people have had "bad" transmissions that were not going to be repaired with a fluid change. It is impossible to say if it was due to how it was operated, assembled or if the syncro break-in additve was properly added at the factory that caused these issues. Ford has had a history of MT-82 issues which seem to be very minimal in recent years. If you have an existing issue I always recommend bringing it in to Ford so it's documented. Many shifting issues go away with time (mileage) and a majority go away with a fluid change.
Awesome, thanks mate. I see why you are respected as you are around here. Will most probably be ordering the trans fluid kit from you tonight :)

I want to place an order for the combo kit, is there a coupon code available?
From what I understand the combo kit already saves you $10. I wouldn't mind seeing some better shipping rates though Optimum Performance :D Just ordered the BG Syncro Shift II Kit :)

I must have passed over that thread when I looked through the threads you have started. I placed my order anyways, the discount isn't a make or break for me. Thanks!

Just installed the BG Syncro Shift ll from Optimum and all I can say is wow, money well spent. When the car was new it shifted smooth but around 1800 miles I could notice a little catch in each shift. After changing the fluid and going on a test drive the first shift was a noticeable improvement and just kept getting better. Should have done it sooner. Great kit from Optimum and simple to do.

Question, for what conditions do you recommend the 75w90 and the 75w140? Which one is recommended for the most durability?
Either is fine, 75W-140 holds up better in the heat. 75W-90 is fine for daily driving if you do not intend to do any sort of track events. We still currently run 75W-90 but if we ever find time to make it to the track will likely swap to the 75W-140.

Maximum Protection = 75W-140.
Maximum Efficiency = 75W-90.

Changing out the original fluid to any quality fluid after a couple thousand miles = Priceless :)

Changing mine after 1k miles with different driving conditions (80% of which was state highway driving, the other 20% city driving, sometimes hard, sometimes coasting). Is this a good time to change it out? Or should I wait longer?

edit; mine arrived today, it's waiting at my door step. Can't wait to get home :D

Change it now and get that crap out of there and get the good stuff in.

When you say better efficiency that means it flows through the gears better or?
