I had a consistent ‘mid 10sec corvette that was an auto and boring. I would have given anything to have a manual and been able to track it or do some spirited driving around a twisty ass roads. The 10spd trans we have is a great transmission but nothing compares to rowing gears.
I'd probably just spend the extra money to make a 10 sec car into a 9 sec car if I got bored. After retiring my last Terminator for this thing, I don't miss the stick one bit. Then again, how do you get bored with a 10 sec car?....lol

Advice, if the stick car you're looking at isn't already boosted, keep what you have. Slow is much more boring than an automatic.

I’ve been doing that since the 80s. Had an 83 square eye, with a 496ci BBC and a 300 nitrous hit, running deep 9sec. So building a 9sec car wasn’t the problem. The problem that I ran into as I got older was that once you go there, it’s the cages and the maintenance because the more you make the more you break and I didn’t want to go there with my Corvette since I’ve done it in 3 previous occasions (83Mustang 98Firebird 01Camaro)I get that some folks that’s their cup of tea. Mine has evolved into corners. Seen how much I can push my car round a track with modest upgrades to suspension wheels and tires. When you get to 500rwhp you’re making more hp then 98% of cars on the street and it’s a great amount of power around a track with our cars. . So keep pushing you and your car as far as you want. Some of us have found other ways to have fun other then in a strait line. 👍🏼

Although that’s very true and I don’t mind my auto being fast enough on the street, I’m just missing the satisfaction rowing gears.

Rowing gears makes any car fun to me. I have a 92 Integra as well and even at 80hp, rowing through the gears and whipping around in a 2500lb car is a ton of fun. I don't think I can do an auto unless it's DCT and its a MONSTER of a car...im talking big build GTR level, or something thats a different experience that gets my other sense firing and makes me forget about auto vs manual like a Ferrari/McLaren or something

I had ordered a Scat Pack Charger and drive it year round, but in the end could not pull the trigger because of the Auto. Ended up buying my manual 5.0 instead and a winter beater Jeep. I still dream of the Scat Pack and still want one.. but I know if I can only have one, it will be a manual, just because it is more fun. Hopefully in a year or two I can pickup a Scat and keep the 5.0

If you wanted a manual scat why not go with a Challenger?

It's all fun and games until you hit 3rd gear. :like:

I like paddle shifting my 800 rwhp 10r80 more than driving even a good manual tr6060 car (630 wheel hp cts-v was the tr6060) Broke a mt82 NA gt in 2015 on the street with street tires.. the tr6060 was lightyears better I missed shifts on the tr6060 like 95% less times but the 10r80 just... it actually pulls harder during shifts lol. If I was getting a manual it would be a mach 1
