Just one of those things we have to live with. I ran mine just like that for a couple of years and then added a Steeda axle back exhaust and it made it even louder. I have heard a car with different LTHs, h-pipe and axle back at my local track that did not have any rasp, but rather a bass in ya face type sound. I really liked the of sound of it too!

Yep, I'm thinking I'll replace the Steeda X Pipe with the Corsa Double H, give it a try, and if I still need less rasp, add the Corsa Resonators.

Get er dialed in to your liking. It’s trial and error, but I’m sure you’ll find something that you like. Hopefully you don’t have to change too many combinations to get there though.

I've heard those double crossovers and it's not a clean sound. I think you'd be going the opposite direction you're trying to. Either the factory resonator or the one from magnaflow would be the best thing to clean up the rasp from going Lt's/catless. Otherwise, your stuff has a great sound to it! I'm stock headers and cats with the steeda x and factory AE, it sounds killer. No intentions of changing.

Are you near Ft. Ruckert? I see that Blackhawk in the background.

Kooks 1 7/8" LTHs, Cat delete, Steeda X Pipe, and OEM AE cat back.
My suggestion for what it’s worth is to only replace the X-pipe for a quality H-Pipe (Steeda).
Forum member Mazman has several videos and there’s a dynamic at play with the H-pipe and OEM axle back that plays well together.
If not that then AWE or CORSA header back IMO

Member BmacIL has some sound clips of his AWE with OEM GT350 mid pipe combo, AWE without the resonators is loud on cats. BmacIL is local to me, I sold him the OEM GT350 mid and heard it with the AWE. Sounded real good.

Yep, definitely baby steps when dealing with sound. The combo prior to long tubes and cat delete was pretty good, so I’ll chip away over the next few months.

Good info, Dude, thank you. I’ve heard some sound clips, but who knows how doctored they are if not posted by an individual.

There are parts of the current sound I like, but at a certain throttle position and beyond, it’s not what I’m looking for. It gets cleaner in NORMAL mode, but still not that bass filled, beefy sound.

Very close. The training traffic flies over my house every day. That particular BH has a “N” number and no engines….been sitting there a while.

Thanks, Dude. I like the AWE but would like to keep the AE. I’ve looked at the Corsa with AE online, but all the clips I’ve listened to are on their website.

I’ve like my Steeda X Pipe, so could easily go with their H.

There you go, the best cost effective first step. X for H Steeda brand no fuss, swap and done.
Controlling the dB's with the AWE is a challenge with no cats. CORSA Touring axle back helps but why if you have factory AE.

Exactly. I like the factory AE and would rather not change it.

A bit more refinement today....I've been quite disappointed with the new tune that was supposed to work with all the recent work on the engine, so I took about 45 mins to remove the IM, re-install the IMRC pots and get the IM back in place.

Squirted in the new tune from VMP, reset the KAM and fired it up. There was an immediately noticeable difference in how the engine started, how it sounded, and definitely how it idled. A quick shakedown was further proof that making the tuning move was a good one. Huge shout out to VMP Performance.

So lockout IMRC back to functional IMRC and the planets aligned for you ?
These engines are designed around the CMCV's. It takes a lot of changes to make them run right without the CMCV's. They only operate at part throttle so they in no way interfere with WOT performance.
