I swore I wouldn't name a car, but my wife is calling it "Beauty." And it arrived this morning. I had just enough time to run to the dealer and pick it up so I could drive to an evening meeting. Haven't even gotten all the tags and stickers off of it yet! I did do a complete and careful walk-around, and I can't find a single thing to stress over. All the gaps are tight and even, no orange peel in the paint, no bumps or bruises, no tears in carpet or fabric. And no wind noise!
All I can say is, haters will hate, but this car drives like no Mustang ever! I did well to get the non-PP. I wanted the AT but was worried the chassis would be "loose" and it would lean too much. Forget that! It's very tight and well-controlled, and on my mountain road home there's no lean; it just goes where you point it at any reasonable speed. Speaking of speed, there's plenty of that.
All the 70 pages of discussion about "soft-touch" upper door panels on the 68B? Forget that, too. Same upper door panels as the Dark Saddle GT PP on the showroom floor. But that's OK. The Redline interior is gorgeous. The leather is soft, the seats are amazingly comfortable and supportive.
WAY too many toys to have them all figured out, but the voice control for My Ford Touch is slick. I can guess a lot of what will work, and I don't have to take my eyes off the road. "Audio. FM 91 Point 1" And there you are!
LOVE the Pony puddle lights. I need to get the red gels I got from Zombie installed, but it's a very cool effect.
More to come. But it's late. Best way I can summarize is it reminds me a lot of my Infiniti G35 but with better seats, more room, more toys, and a WHOLE lot more power.
This is filling it with 91 on the dealer's dime, and me holding the keys with the Fleet Manager who chewed out my guy for selling a brand new Mustang at X-Plan in the background:
