This question is so basic, I feel stupid asking. I’m reading the install instructions and saw this (highlighted part). I’m assuming that’s wrong. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen people with that in tact. Does it need to be removed?

I have mine installed on my 2019. I think they mean remove it for ease of installation.

Maybe I’m reading it wrong. I’m assuming they’re talking about the hood liner/insulation. (What I highlighted)

Oh yes, the insulation comes off and doesn't get put back on. Think it's due to clearance.

Thanks. It threw me off because when I look at pics and videos, many have the hood liner.

I know some people remove it because you can hear the whine better. I just wasn’t sure if having it helps absorb some of the heat. Thanks again.

As mentioned, it’s removed for clearance. Mine still kisses the hood slightly in two spots even with the hood liner removed.

Thanks. I’ll remove it when I do my install.

I didn’t remove my hood insulation until after install to check clearance. It was lightly touching the blower lid without even being fully shut so I removed it.

My whipple touches the hood liner and leaves an imprint on it, its not a problem though. Im keeping the liner on.

My only fear is if you left it in would it rub the finish off the top of the whipple.

I can’t say they’re all this way, but mine has been rubbing the insulation for 30k miles or more and the finish is still intact. It’s just polished and clean.

Does the entire thing rub? Could one just cut out a section of the liner?
