I'll go e85 for sure, wish i could go with lund but e85 tunning is not available with the ngauge for FI. By the way the group is MSA and there are like 2 s197 coyotes and 1 s550 coyote that have blew in the last couple months with FI and 91. I don't comfortable with any tuners in AZ
Yeah, 91 octane is a REALLY crappy fuel.

It's always a battle between customer vs tuner, as most customers have unrealistic expectations of what is "safe" on the stock motor. (Especially on fuel like 91 octane.)

They get caught up in online vendor marketing and dyno data, and get disappointed when their car does't make the same inflated dyno numbers. (Unicorn data as far as I'm concerned.)

With 91 octane, you've got to run low timing, as the cars will want to detonate when hot.

This means dialing the car back for safety, which makes for humble dyno numbers.

The moral of the story: If you've got E85 close by, spend the money on upgrading your fuel system and use it.

Not sure who told you Lund can't do e85 tunes on the ngauge..not true. He will require a beefy fuel system though. I'm going this route eventually. I hear good things about the fore fuel kits

AZ + FI here.

Lund was having a hell of a time tuning my car on 91 this past summer. We just couldn't keep the knock away. I started filling up with 95 octane at Tom's Thumb in Scottsdale, but at 5$/gal and the fact that it wasn't close made it not so convenient. And the car was STILL pulling timing, which made me think maybe it wasn't completely 95?

Anyways, I now use 91 + 16oz of Torco for every fill up and it's managed to keep the knock away. I've heard conflicting reports of Torco being bad long-term.. and others have reported it's fine. I guess I'll find out.

Seeing the recent discussions about octane and additives, wondering how manufactures get to advertise their systems work with 91. I've been shopping for FI and only have 91 octane and have never even seen an E85 pump. I don't want to end up buying something that will burn holes in my pistons. Also don't want to be required to have to add additive to every fill up. Can someone give me the scoop.

well as i'm sure you read, 91 is poopy. it's the bare minimum and i would not want to run FI on it. can you get drums of e85 delivered to you? my 93 tune is still pretty conservative until i switch to e85.
