Hello guys ,couple questions regarding my build next month

Soo i just purchased a paxton novi 2200 kit, id1000cc and a catback, planning to tune my car on 91 for now. There is not to many option for tuners here i Arizona but however i asked in Facebook group of mustangs here trying to get some advice. But i just heard some bad news lol, guess az 91 is too bad that th.e last 2 coyotes here that were tuned blew their engine after couple months at 550whp, so their advice is dont go over 550 is you want to keep your engine in one piece. Not sure if this is a tuners problem in AZ ( im thinking just go lund remote tunning ) or maybe coyotes are not that strong ( i though 600whp was achivable in 91) or AZ 91 just that bad....

Any advise will be highly appreciated

I'm lund tuned with a whipple. Probably sitting around 600-650rwhp on 91

you'll be fine, just don't be buying gas at random quikmart stations I prefer Shell or Chevron

You guys on the west side have more choices for e85. Me personally I'm going water meth on mine. It's 12 miles to the nearest station with e85 for me which sucks.

I'd gladly take the 12 mile trip for it.

Closest one within 100 miles is 40 miles away:brokenheart::confused:

What forum are you on locally that had blown engines? I have yet to hear of anyone blowing their motor in AZ.

If 91 octane was my only option for pump gas, I'd definitely explore an upgraded fuel system to run E85.

On a built motor, I'd feel more comfortable on gas, but on factory cast pistons....I'd run a VERY conservative tune with conservative timing.

Anybody can tune the car for E85, pending you have an E85 compliant fuel system. (aka upgraded fuel pumps + injectors)

You need a fuel system that's good for roughly 30% more fuel flow than the equivalent gasoline setup.

I use ID1300 Injectors + Fore Innovations Fuel System on my personal TT GT. Works great.

E85 will make more power and to me, it's safer.

Methanol has more maintenance involved and if the injection device fails/ fails to activate, could cost you a motor.

Many like Meth injection, I've just never been a big fan.

It's easier for me to fill up with E85 at the gas station and forget about it.

Negative is up front costs are high, as you need the fuel system to support it. (Meth Injection also has up front costs of parts + labor.)

I'll go e85 for sure, wish i could go with lund but e85 tunning is not available with the ngauge for FI. By the way the group is MSA and there are like 2 s197 coyotes and 1 s550 coyote that have blew in the last couple months with FI and 91. I don't comfortable with any tuners in AZ
