I so hope you’re referring to Speed Phenom (Austin) because I’m right there with you on that guy. I will scream if that dude gets a GTD over someone else. But he probably will because he’s an “influencer” (who or what he influences I’m not quite sure).
You are probably right. He will.

I’d drive it, as much as I do my others. That’s a having time deal. As cool of a car as it will be I’m about fifty fifty if an allocation wqs forthcoming and the price. I’d bet Tom would go straight to the track with it. I envy what he has access to in that regard.

So for shits and giggles with the price of this car if anybody just happens to get one would you store it or would you drive it even if it’s just a little. Just wondering.

If I get it, my plan is to have it delivered at the Daytona Speedway. Yep, I'll drive it like it was intended.

That would be pretty cool. There’s no way that somebody who gets that car can’t give it a run of what it’s intended for. If you get it I’ll meet you there. I would love to check it out. I’ll be 10 minutes away in Feb.

I will make the 5-hour drive if you will let me ride a lap with you :)

This alone is worthy of an allocation IMO.

I hate you tubers and influencers. The California kid and Goose have to be the biggest pompous ignorant self Important asses.
Their stupid preview thumbnails with their stupid looking confused faces. Can't stand youtube nowadays.

One of the few ones I will regularly watch is SavageGeese.

Completely agree. I think Ford is making a huge mistake with the influencer rabbit hole nonsense as it pertains to allocations.
This whole “influencer generation” really bothers me. I get a kick out of some YouTubers (That Dude in Blue, Throttle House are two channels that I enjoy watching) but for the most part they all just sell shitty merchandise to fund the cars they showcase and within a few weeks they’re on to something else because clicks and views plateau or decline. They’re not really in it for the cars, only the views and revenue they provide.

Guys like Speed Phenom and StangChode are nails on a chalkboard to me. I don’t watch any of their stuff anymore (I’ve tried just to see if they’ve changed, but I just can’t do it for more than a couple minutes) and if either one of them get a GTD, I still will not watch their channel. So if Ford’s intent is to get these cars into the hands of guys like StangChode to get more eyes on the brand, it may backfire on them. Those guys will sell them the minute they are able because they will have run out of content by then. I will look for folks here and on 7G over most of those YouTube guys all day, every day.

Fingers crossed for you Charlie and for Tom as well, at least folks like you would truly appreciate the cars vs the YouTubers that only want them for the potential revenue it would provide. Ok, off my box now.

Generally speaking, the events I drive are open to giving rides as long as you are an instructor. In the club that I instruct, I can give rides. So, yes. Apparently early allocations were awarded and I wasn't one of them. I think it had something to do with the titanium poker chip event they had in Vegas.

If I had to guess, early allocations were probably given to folks like Leno, Tim Allen, etc. Just doing a quick flip through YouTube and it doesn’t appear any of the career YouTubers (I use the term career loosely) got an early one. And if they did, they can’t say because there’s nothing out there.

There was a video about them a while back. Invitees to a special event in Vegas. I didn't see the kid, goose, stangmode, etc. These were GT owners or others who Ford perceived as their target audience.

They have to start somewhere. The kicker is that most of those people will lock it away for two years and flip the car.

The car used in my application video was a 2018 GT350R base model. Set on the beaches where racing began. I was in training for a new aircraft at the time and I was very busy. I wish I had thought to let the camera roll for a bit longer during this random moment for further enjoyment.
