A helmholtz resonator is not restrictive it only alters the sound waves to reduce resonance (drone). Solo uses them as well, which are their adjustable J pipes.

The Helmholtz chambers reduce drone by canceling out certain sound frequencies at cruising speed. But when you accelerate hard, the higher velocity gases pass right by the chamber and out the tip so they do not restrict flow.

Let us know if you have any other questions!

I finally had the exhaust installed and couldn't be happier. Now I just need to find the perfect headers w/ high-flow cats to order. Anyone have any suggestions?

If your header budget allows ARH headers in 1 7/8" with catless X. I really wanted a set of ARH 2" primary headers for my car but they were over my budget.

I like the sound and looks of the system, the only thing I can't get over is that rotary phone "ring" it's seems to make at high rpms. It seems to be present in every video.

Are you referring to the raspy sound at higher RPM?
Having an X-pipe in the system usually has a little more rasp vs an H-pipe, but we like the performance benefits of the X (more power mid to high rpm range vs H that usually offers a little more tq down low).

But the rasp is pretty mild and is mostly heard when just free revving vs actually driving.
