I am officially in the club now. Seems like everyone at the track uses Apex wheels. I ordered the EC-7 (Anthracite) for my Mach 1. After debating extensively on size, I went with 18 x 11 ET52 for all 4 corners. I know I'll need the extended studs and a 25mm spacer to make it work, but I like being able to rotate my tires. I went with 18" because, even though I make good money, HPDE isn't a cheap hobby and the wheels and tires were less expensive. Going with RE71RS tires in 295 35 18 square. I have experience with this tire on 2 different cars and have zero complaints. Sure, 305's would be better, but Bridgestone did not bless us with that size in the RS.

Apex's customer service was quick to respond to my questions and helped me make the decision. 10/10.

Side note, I will be posting some AR924 wheels (20 x 9) wrapped in RE71RS (285 30 20) tires for sale. OKC area.

Ok, now make me feel bad for not going w/19's.

I have apex 18x10 ec7 in satin bronze and I absolutely love these wheels. You can't go wrong with Apex. 👍

Not really. I have been extremely impressed with the RE71RS on my 2 track cars and saw no reason to change.

A massively slower tire than the RE71RS??? I don't know why anyone would do this.

18's were the right choice. Only reason to go 19's would be for Goodyear 3R's.

Do you have any data, lap time comparisons between the 2 ?
Can’t find anything recent on the web

I agree. And I just did the math. I am shaving 8lbs/corner with the new setup compared to my previous setup.

Last time I looked at initial pricing - around $500 per tire - which is substantially cheaper than Yokohama in the same size.

Apex has been around a fairly long time now, particularly in the BMW world. You're not going to have any issues. I've bought multiple sets of wheels from Apex and the only issue I've ever seen, and this was early on, was the finish wasn't always perfect (or all that close). That seems to have improved as my last set was by far the best.
