How much louder is it if I keep the stock exhaust after the headers?
Here’s what mine sounded like with catted LTHs, Steeda x-pipe and the factory AE exhaust. I liked it best in quiet mode.

Here’s what it sounds like now with catless LTHs (with weld in Vibrant race mufflers in place of the cats), Steeda x-pipe and Steeda axle back exhaust.

So guys, when you lose the resonator in favor of an X or H pipe, do you still retain full function of the Active Exhaust? And is each successive step on the AE a whole lot louder, as in could I still get away with running in track mode all the time?

Yes to both questions. Post #136 shows an example of me switching through the modes and you can hear the difference.

Mine has a Steeda H pipe. I pretty much leave it in normal mode all the time. Track is pretty loud. But I'm not a "look at me" annoying exhaust guy either lol.

I‘m not a “look at me” guy either. I really don’t care who does or doesn’t look at me unless of course they have a badge.

But having said that, I do like loud. At least to a point I guess. I think track mode on a stock Mach 1 is a perfect everyday level. If that was the only sound my cars had I’d be fine with it. Not sure how I would feel about a whole lot louder.

I live in California and am wondering what my options are. Can someone please explain the differences between the Catted Connection, Green Catted Connection and the Basic Headers without connection kit? I plan on using these in conjunction with a Steed X Pipe. Thanks.

@BuDuH75 here what my catted Ultimate Headers LTS look like mated to a Steeda X pipe.

The Green cats will be located in the same place on the mid pipes and look very similar in size/shape to what is shown in the pic.

I love my car, but I still think the 4.6 sounds a lot better than our braaaaaaap sound. Just no comparison. Even at idle.

I mean, I love our car. but my 513ci 11:1 comp stroker with 3" duals sounds so much better at 7k. (always something better in some respect)

Scroll to 12:50 on the video. That's Stainless Works, catted, everything else stock (stock resonator and active muffler), running at this point 7200 rpm in 5th gear.
Green GT3 RS next to me is friend running Dundon header and muffler and it's ear piercing loud (fast car too)!

Still sounded like a Coyote, only quiet.
