T,
Getting your wheel damaged sucked. But, there is a difference between support, and services we do not offer. When you initially told me you thought there was an issue with the wheel the immediate response was that “we would take care of it.” Once we determined it was cosmetic damage from the curbing and not any production issue it shifted to “how can we help you take care of it.” Which included me attempting to find a local recommendation to refinish the gloss black wheel. It was not a simple “No” response without any other help.
I do a whole hell of a lot to take care of people. Excellent service and advice before the wheel build process. 24 hour / 365 day a year access to me with any questions or concerns you might have after production begins. Access to all of the discounts or savings we have with industry partners. Development of speciality components to make wheel installs painless. Spot on delivery times. Reaching out to local contacts for recommendations on wheel repair services, and almost any other help you could need.
One of the the services we do not offer is touch up, or the ability to send wheels back to be refinished/refurbished. All powder coatings are mixed at the time of the wheel build and are custom colors. There is no paint/color code that you could provide to a local shop. And still no guarantee the mix would be perfect match even if you sent it back. At which point you would be out time, money, and definitely upset if you got the wheel back and it didn’t match what you currently had. We also then assume responsibility if that wheel comes to us damaged, gets lost in shipping, misplaced once received, and a host of other potential issues.
I can do many things, but there are some some things I can not. I can understand your frustration as the outcome you desired was for us to take the wheel back and refinish it for you after already having a failed attempt with a local repair service. To say we do not offer support or make it seem lackluster would be a misrepresentation of what Signature is about, or what you could expect within the wheel industry.
Ty for the clarification. Forums are sometimeshappen is making me second guess spending near
tough to tease out the details.
