I know there is little love for the V6. The EB will have more HP, more torque, and better mileage. The V6 is targeted for rental fleets, has limited options, and may only be around for another year or two.

But I really like the idea of a basic, entry-level, RWD sports car. For me, 300 HP is plenty and it should have around 50/50 weight distribution, which should make it fun to drive. I don't care that I can't get a touch screen or leather seats. I have no time to get into racing, and I'm not interested in HP bragging rights (although I do love the sound of a V8). And with a price difference of ~$1,500 compared with the EB, I'll take the V6 with very little hesitation.

There was this thread: http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showthread.php/phasing-out-v6-1076.html that discussed the love, or lack thereof, for the V6. But it died back in January.

Are there posters here interested in the V6? Do you not feel the need to discuss it because it's a carryover engine? Or am I more or less alone thinking that the V6 is an appealing Mustang?

Price difference of about $20 a month...plus remember resale for the V6 will be the lowest.

I think I am a fan of the V6.

Never owned anything with more than 140hp, but always driven a stick shift. Have been following 6g Mustang and successfully caught a fever with this lovely car.

Although I like V8 (the sound) and EB (the twin turbo), my budget and driving pattern dictate that V6 is more than enough for me.

Between EB and V6, I personally like V6 a bit more, actually. Personally I will choose the readiness of throttle response and sound of the V6 over the bigger hp and lightweight of EB.

If I do pull the trigger for a V6, I will be more than doubling my hp. Think about that!

Understood.

But when I buy a car, I plan on keeping it for several years. Resale value should not concern me as much.

However, I am having an open mind with V6 vs EB.

Due to the turbo the EB will have a deeper exhaust note then the V6. Also with the new twin scroll there's minimal to zero throttle lag. Its so small you wont notice it.

Thanks for the input. I guess I will keep an open mind. Wait until the media reviews once the cars are out. Or reviews from the members here.

Lowest resale value, yes. But you also pay the least when you buy it.

The GT, EB, and V6 will all depreciate. Cars are a terrible investment.

The EB costs more than the V6 and isn't more appealing to me than the V6. That may change when we learn more about it, but for now I think the V6 is everything I need and I'd rather put the $1,500 in my pocket.

I'm showing my age, but I can remember when Corvettes produced 250 HP.

I live in a congested area, so I can't use 400+ HP even if I had it. I'd very much like the sound of the V8, but the cost to get that sound is too much for me.

Same here. Maybe the EB will be amazing in some way that makes it an easy choice for the extra money.

Does anyone know what the take rate is on the V6 now that people have been ordering 2015s?

We have quite the V6(code name Cyclone) fan base on my forum. Some of them like the V6 for its exhaust note, smooth power delivery, fuel mileage, and with forced induction its higher HP potential over the 4-cylinder.

A lot of our members are very interested in the 2015 for its updated chassis and interior, but are also happy the 3.7 Cyclone is still available.

I had a 2000 V6 Mustang for 8 years. I really loved that car. I would have bought a 2015 v6 if they offered the Premium options for it.
