I need to replace them cooling fans in my vehicle due to issues with the fan on the passenger side. However, I am uncertain whether it can be removed without taking out the entire radiator assembly.

Also I am curious about an alternative options to the OEM fans? Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your assistance."

To orient myself as to what's involved, I watched the 5 minute video, above.

While the video highlights removing and replacing the radiator, it identifies how the fans attach to the radiator.

It appears you can access everything from the top side. After removing different assemblies, disconnect the electrical connector and two, 10 mm bolts near the top. With the fans now loose, the fan assembly can be pulled up and out. The assembly is held at the bottom by sliding the fans into their respective tabs. With the space available, it'd seems the fans can be removed while the radiator stays in-place. You might have to disconnect the upper radiator hose.

Point 3:40 shows how much space is in-between the fans and the engine. Point 4:15 identifies how the assembly detaches from the radiator.

Starting at point 5:00 in the following, the same can be seen:

Thank you so much @Skye very informative much appreciated for taking the time to explain everything. It looks very easy to replace just the fans .. looks like its only the 2 bolts and an electric plug. Will see how that will turns out after buying the new fans.

Regarding the best replacement options, the day is just getting started here. Those with experience could offer their feedback as to what worked for them along with possibly t-shooting tips to confirm it is the fan itself and not another item.

I think I’ll stick with them oem fans! Been searching for an upgrade from ford performance but it seems that all 2015 - 2023 mustangs use the same fans! Thanks again

Use OEM fans. I don't know if there are upgrades out there but there are aftermarket ones. I recently had to replace the radiator fans in my Edge while on vacation. All I could get quickly were aftermarket fans. They fit fine and function properly but are considerably noisier than OEM. Since the Edge is our "spare" car I will leave them alone but if it were my DD they would greatly annoy me.

Yup. Bought new oem fans. Replacing was straight forward and easy. Did it myself 30 mins max. Fans can be removed easily without the need to remove the whole radiator assembly.
