I will ask them when I pick the car up. Should be finished today but they are looking at another issue for me whilst they have it.

Also asked about the TSB. They are saying it is not for Euro cars... the people in the technical department at for are saying it's nothing to do with our cars. Find it hard to believe but what can I do.
They are putting it through as a service for me too which is good. And I have requested a further oil change which I will get an independent anyalsis done once I'm back from France at the end of June.

I'm the first to slag ford off but so far they really have been good. Communication is what I'm surprised at with the most. Every step they have kept me in the loop which is what I expect.

This is all very comforting (obviously it's not done, nor will you have never ending confidence in it until it.. well, doesn't break!). I'll be keeping a tight eye on mine and will get it checked when it's in for the first service.. assuming it lasts that long. :/

I want you to be happy when you get your car back but I would suggest recording in writing what happened and including Ford's response i.e. that the failure to your car appears identical to that described in the TSB; that you pointed this out, and that Ford chose to rectify the issue using a different method. I would state that should it transpire in future that this TSB would be applicable to your car then you would expect retrospective action to ensure the safety and reliability of your car. Should any future failure be reasonably attributable to the oil cooler failure having temporarily compromised the lubrication and/or cooling system then you will expect it to be rectified at Ford's expense regardless of when this should occur.

I think Blackadder works at Ford 'technical' department since your failure and the one described in the TSB are no more similar than two completely dissimilar things in a pod. :)

I sent the tsb to Paul hendy on Monday and asked him to check my car against it. He told me they where not aware before I sent it to him, so he must have been aware of you spoke to them by Tuesday

isn't the TSB for the gt350's
click the link. specifically states the RH drive 5.0 GT. but then being told its not for EU cars. think they dont want to put a new engine in.
not many of these have failed right now, think we have counted 6 who have been vocal. if i hear of anymore and they get a new engine i will be kicking off
