What in Gods name are you freaking talking about? This is a forum where people share their experience with complete strangers on the internet. We share our thoughts, experience, ideology, fears etc. I have no need to justify my purchase and you not understanding how a forum works in not surprising.

These "Hey everyone look at me, I traded my EB for a GT" threads are exactly "people justifying their purchase to complete strangers on the internet", do you really not see that?

^^^i'm actually agreeing with you Magnetto...these "I switched threads" are truly funny...people are trying to "validate and justify" their change of heart to total strangers. Well, I find it amusing.

ya got me there, it just seemed like you were trying to justify your EB purchase with that whole big novel you wrote vs the "hey guys look at me i upgraded" topic of this thread.

My response was not meant for you Rough Man, it was for the gentlemen from Long Island who doesn't see the EB to GT threads as justification to total strangers on the internet, but sees mine as a desperate attempt to justify my EB purchase. :frusty:

The pissing contest between EB and GT owners is very amusing. It's kind of like watching 2 window licking moron twins slapping each other in the face.

Any who, these "Hey everyone look at me, I traded my EB for a GT" threads are important for people on the fence about which Mustang to purchase. Buy the car you want the first time so you do not get bent over by some Ford salesman when trading in your brand new Mustang for a brand new Mustang. :headbonk:

I did not buy an EB to make it as fast as a GT. I went with EB/Premium/PP/AUTO so both me and my wife could enjoy the Mustang. She needs an auto and the GT has too much power. I wanted the Performance Package and the EB/PP was the only choice. We both need leather, Navi, cooled seats, etc. and mpg along with insurance cost is also advantageous.

I did not buy the EB because it was cheaper that the GT either. The loaded EB was 37k, out the door for 32.5 during the August-September 2015 sales event with 0% financing for 72 months. With zero down the payment is less than 450.00 a month and insurance is 800.00 a year. A GT Premium with Navi was the same price so cost was not a factor although the insurance and gas cost would be higher I imagine.

I also did my due diligence before making the decision to buy an EB and talked to actual Ford dealership employees about the EB reliability. I did not listen to some wanna be grease monkey who heard from his mother's boyfriends second cousins uncle who works at Ford in piss water Ohio (no offense Ohio) about some carbon buildup, 6th gear blah, blah blah, and how 6 EB's have blown up at a single dealership.

At the end of the day we are all driving a Mustang
We do all drive Mustangs and I personally think all three trim levels are fantastic. I would drive an EB as a daily in a heart beat. I wouldn't mod it however. I'm a mod everything I own kind of person. So the EB would be out for me on that reason alone. I really like the V6 & V8s tough as nails reputation and the peace of mind they give when mods are added. Again stock they are all fine because you have the full protection of a warranty to back you up. That was the point I was trying to make when I joined last year and people thought I was a 4 banger hater. Not the case at all. All 3 engines will have a failure rate. It just a fact that the EB currently has a higher rate than the V6-V8 right now. I'm hoping Ford has already corrected the issues with a new block and anyone that wants to mod their EB can have the same piece of mind going forward that the V8 guys have.

Funny, cuz when I share my experiences and my opinion of how much I dislike the ecoboost on the EB forum all you knuckle heads just pile on top of me in worship of your 1,000+ mpg, 0.003 second 0-60 magical ebm's.. Lol. :headbonk:

It's a shame that as an Owner of an EB I refrain from going on that section of these forums due to all the hostility from the other owners.. I'll just hang out over here with the general crowd going forward.

In my brief encounter with you on the I4 forum you had no idea what the manufacturer warranty coverage was on the Mustang. You stated that the salesman told you it was 3 year 30 K miles ( which is wrong) and you didn't know the powertrain was 5 year 60 K miles so I told you to get your facts straight before spewing bullshit
I stand by that comment.

I am interested in the EB engine problems and that is why I joined this forum. According to my Ford service manager, and close friend who works at a Ford dealership, there is no EB engine problem. Now there does appear to be something going on with modded EB's but it is difficult to shift thru all the bullshit sinse the modded EB's are being denied warranty claims.

Does anyone else find it a bit disingenuous that when you talk to a Ford salesman they are quick to point out how "mod-able" the Ecoboost engine is...but when you have a problem with your engine, the service manager is so quick to play the "warranty denied card"? Maybe some extra confusion and consternation is caused by Ford on their position on "Mods"...some are forbidden, some are OK, and some are produced by Ford Racing. But you can't get a straight answer from Ford on anything...ever try to ask Ford Customer Service a question? Good Luck with that Dudes!

It's called LSPI and it's an issue. It happens to stock and modded Ecoboost cars. Ford isn't going to own up to it and they're quick to find bullshit reasons to void people's warranties when their car blows up. Guy over on the Focus ST forum had his warranty denied after the engine blew up because he had a symposer delete installed...

I feel like there are several ppl in this thread who clearly did not read the original post. Rough hollow still sounds slightly butt hurt about buying a V6 as well as you keep making statements about EB owners.

I DID NOT TRADE THE CAR SIMPLY BECAUSE I WANTED A GT. If I trusted the reliability of my particular car due to build date or if I still had an intact warranty I WOULD STILL BE DRIVING IT. But with all the recent engine failures and the fact that I need to be able to rely on the car for daily commute, I decided to make the trade earlier than originally planned instead of risking a $6k repair just to keep the same car.

All the talk of ppl being bent over by dealers is dumb because a good deal is a good deal and trade in value is trade in value.

I also don't see how this thread has anything to do with justification. I made the decision, I don't need random ppl on the internet for that. I simply announced that I made the switch. Enjoy your cars. I sure as hell am

My opinion of Ecoboost vs V6 vs GT is still unchanged. Hopefully we will continue to see 0 failures on the 2016 Ecoboosts

Every time you trade in a car within 3 years you are losing 5k or more so instead of risking a 6k repair you went out and spent an additional 5k for piece of.mind.

So you're telling me the 1 year old motor is having more growing pains than the 5 year old motors? Well that doesn't seem logical...
