There goes the neighborhood. Tonight I said goodbye to my EB and hello to my new GT :D
Well, my friend, welcome to the EB to GT club. I had a feeling you'd go to the dark side eventually.

Lol thanks bro. I do absolutely love this car, but I can't say I'm proud to be a member of the turncoat club lol

Oh hell, don't worry about it. Remember when I did it? I had half the forum calling me a retard, or trying to run numbers with me. Apparently it got so bad that the Camaro6 guys made note of it.

And the folks at the Mustang meetups around here STILL rib me about it.

Wear the badge with pride man. Other folks might always have a "what if" bug. What if I went V8. Or, what if I saved some money and went Turbo 4. Not us. We know for sure ;). Gotta be worth something.

I'm glad I found this forum lol. I was seriously going to go EB Premium PP but between everybody here and my friend with a 11 GT I've decided that I am going GT 100%. Now its just between base PP or Premium non PP. I've pretty much lived with base cars my entire life but the lack of aftermarket radio support for the Mustangs is making this a tough choice, plus the crazy cost of adding Sync 3 to the base cars......It would be nice to have some creature comforts for a change....especially the ventilated seats here in the blazing Florida summers.

I don't know how many arguement I had with the EB crowd before I finally gave up. Sure you can make an EB as fast as a GT. But you'll never have the piece of mind of the bullet proof proven durability of the V8 & automatic trans. I always felt like I was one hard pull away from a broken transmission when I went the big power 4 banger route 10 years ago.

I'm glad I had the learning experience, it helped me know what to do and what not to do with my GT. Also as Dystopic noted, it gives you an appreciation for things that ppl who just got one or the other trim don't really think about.

I went basically complete opposites from premium EB with navigation to base GT and they definitely both have their benefits but the coyote power and sound are enough to sooth the burn of wasted funds

Ha Ha Ha...there's a club of one...the "Coyote-To- Cyclone" club.:eyebulge: What the hell, you mean someone would actually go from the magnificent Coyote engine to the lowly Cyclone motor?:crazy::crazy: I've had 10 Mustangs through these 50 years and all have been V-8s:first:, but this is my first Cyclone powered Pony. What a "jewel" of a motor. And yes, I will have a new MachI in the future :headbang:, but until then I'll proudly squire this little Pony around. And I'd like to thank all the "cocksure" Ecoboosters who have switched to the V-8s for all the amusement for the last year and a half.:lol::cheers:

The pissing contest between EB and GT owners is very amusing. It's kind of like watching 2 window licking moron twins slapping each other in the face.

Any who, these "Hey everyone look at me, I traded my EB for a GT" threads are important for people on the fence about which Mustang to purchase. Buy the car you want the first time so you do not get bent over by some Ford salesman when trading in your brand new Mustang for a brand new Mustang. :headbonk:

I did not buy an EB to make it as fast as a GT. I went with EB/Premium/PP/AUTO so both me and my wife could enjoy the Mustang. She needs an auto and the GT has too much power. I wanted the Performance Package and the EB/PP was the only choice. We both need leather, Navi, cooled seats, etc. and mpg along with insurance cost is also advantageous.

I did not buy the EB because it was cheaper that the GT either. The loaded EB was 37k, out the door for 32.5 during the August-September 2015 sales event with 0% financing for 72 months. With zero down the payment is less than 450.00 a month and insurance is 800.00 a year. A GT Premium with Navi was the same price so cost was not a factor although the insurance and gas cost would be higher I imagine.

I also did my due diligence before making the decision to buy an EB and talked to actual Ford dealership employees about the EB reliability. I did not listen to some wanna be grease monkey who heard from his mother's boyfriends second cousins uncle who works at Ford in piss water Ohio (no offense Ohio) about some carbon buildup, 6th gear blah, blah blah, and how 6 EB's have blown up at a single dealership.

At the end of the day we are all driving a Mustang

i just dont understand the need to justify their purchase to complete strangers on the internet. you just need to be honest with yourself. you're buying the car for you, not for anyone else.
