I don't know if this was pointed out already... but if the only reason you traded in your EB was because of its build date and that you voided your warranty - why wouldn't you just get another (newer build) EB?

It's pretty obvious you preferred a GT since you compromised on the amenities. But hey, nothing wrong with a little flip flopping, politicians do it every day.

This thread is crazy. Someone announces they switched from the EB to the GT and people go crazy lol. Well I guess it's time for me to throw my hat into the ring. I'm in the process of making the switch too. My reasons are 1) I am not going to get the power levels I am looking for on this motor if I don't go built motor/big turbo and or meth, and 2), The failures are concerning, but that really did not sway my decision that much. My car is an early build too. The EB is a great car. No questioning that at all. Love that turbo sound. In the end it was my decision to switch. I'm getting a Magnetic Base GT with auto trans. Pictures will be posted when I take delivery.

Funny all the bicker on here about this. It is the ops car if they like the GT it is their money so they should do as they please. If you like the ecoboost then get one. Your money do what makes you happy. Just don't buy a Camaro :) hahah just kidding it is your money feel free to waste it on a Camaro just don't come here crying after you do :)

The idea of trading for a new EB really did cross my mind but only momentarily, I always wanted to get a GT at some point anyway so it just made more sense. Especially since I wouldn't have been able to resist modding the new EB again lol

I plan to start a new thread once I take delivery. Hopefully I have it by Friday. I will attempt to be as gentle as possible :).

So the EB blown engines that people are talking about...are there articles on these, recalls, or they just on the forum talking about their own blown engines? Haven't read much on these yet (but obviously know about the EB issues).

Most of the ones I have seen were on this forum.

Ecoboost blown engine issue is "overblown"...
I'm sure and we don't know all the details.

Bar none according to the quality/repairs per 100, the companies with a lot of these Turbo 4s have had their problems go up, especially Ford & Chevy. There arent as many issues with the Audi/Lexus ones.

I do think the blow EB engine is blown out of proportion in some aspects. For one it is almost entirely early build cars and second I'm sure 9 out of 10 blown EBs are modded, I have heard stories of stock ones but they seem like unfounded hearsay. BUT I've seen people say there are only 4 or 5 on here and that's not the case.

I don't want any trouble I promise, but I'm listing all the members (not including companies) that I know of who blew a motor. The last 3 probably pushed the engine further than most would

It kind of is, actually. One of the folks at the local Mustang meetup threw a rod on her Ecoboost. But she was pushing an awful lot of boost through the motor, too. She was running really aggressive tunes. I wouldn't have pushed it that far (and didn't when I had mine). You can get some decent horsepower out of them, but there's always a temptation to dial up boost just a *little bit* more.

Well, turns out there's a limit. Whodathunk, right?

It's blown out of proportion period. These 12 are the same ones I see come up over and over. I have an early buid 14 have had it since early dec. 14.I don't worry one bit about it. It's been tuned since 1k over 17k now. Runs perfect and no signs of any issue. As far as the cop out that everyone buys an Eco because it's cheaper. Iam one of those who money wasn't a factor in my purchase Id just rather have a tuned Eco. In the end You wanted a gt and you got one Congrats:thumbsup:
