First rip at the track this year and first time with PBD tune /3.625 pulley/DW400 and BAP/E85
Disabled advace trac using toggles and ran in D/drag mode but torque management kept knocking timing down every shift . Made 2 passes . Went [email protected] with street set up and [email protected] with ET R’s and skinnies up front
Kind of dissapointed as was expecting high 9’s @140+ as I went [email protected] last year with the same pulley and whipple 93 tune(ran race gas or boostane )

Torque control readings were 16 (torque based decel ) and 7 (transmission shift modulation ). No 2’s which is traction control .
Tuner advised to disconnect plug so I did and went back few days later today. Also advised to leave at 1500 rpm (I had been leaving at 1800)

Same 60 ft but ran slower to 330, 660 and 1320 ft (same traps ) although it was hotter out today.
Torque control is still knocking down timing with same tables so called it a day after 2 passses (I should have but did not compare with plumg connected as I developed a sagging bumper)

I am hoping it’s something tuner can fix in the tune . Next time out plan on running the 3.5 pulley and race gas .

I will eventually go back to E85 when I install the JN2uning return fuel system(dual DW 400 pumps in GT 350 hat ) sitting in my storage (and use up the 30 gallons of race gas in my garage.

Top slips from today and bottom from Wednesday.

Torque management is probably saving your transmission..

So is this a transmission issue ?

Here is a pic of the log of 10.0 pass with rpm/spark in orange and torque control in blue .

    Knocks spark down on 1-2 , 3-4 and 5-6 shifts .
First time value is 26 (don’t know what that is) ,second time is 7-16 and third time 16 . E4F665BE-1C2E-4650-8112-D380DEAD4B5E.jpeg

torque control for spark in-between shifts sucks, it will kill your spark advance for like a second after the shift before giving it back, this cost you time and power, which means slower ETs/trap. I have found that drag mode doesn't turn everything off like one would think, track mode seems to be the one that turns everything off

Might have to unplug the nugget with a power adder.

Seems 18+ N/A cars are fastest in drag mode but maybe to fully disable nannies with boost we need to unplug.

I might try it next time I’m out.

Had it unplugged today and it did NOT help . Actually ran slower to 330, 660 and 1320 by .1 with same 60 ft .
Ran in both drag and normal mode with almost identical times I might try it in track mode-next time out.

Is there less torque management in track mode ?

Here is a log of a pass with the old whipple tune .
It cut spark(green) only on 1-2 and 2-3 but looks much better down the track 05060752-373C-4C99-A7DA-5959FE51740F.jpeg

As someone who has been 10.12 @ 145.5, I can empathize. But if I had your 60'... Definitely looking forward to your progress and outcome.

Thanks man , definitely hurts especially as this is my second “10.0” car . I am sure dropping a pulley size will get me that 9.99 but I will have to run race gas until I install the return fuel system as I am sure I will be out of fuel with the BAP/DW400.

My 15 /3.2 KB car also went [email protected] but that has a 2.66 Magnum XL and I was only running a 3.31 rear end .

Sincd I switched to a 4.10 rear end I have not been able to get a clean pass.

First the RXT clutch had to be replaced and then it blew a head gasket . I replaced the head gasket but it is now lifting heads (blown head gasket again?) on the dyno -air is getting into and over pressurizing the coolant over flow tank.

I had a new motor built for it over the winter in preparation for sale but I am tempted to run it one more time get that 9.99 before the new motor goes in .

Just scared of blowing coolant at the track.
If I take the motor out now I may be able to save it/redeck the heads/block/refresh and hopefully sell as a spare with the car or on its own .

I just hope I can resist the temptation to race it with the new motor

My car is a PP1/401a/magneride so probably heavier than the base cars that have gone 9’s with my same set up . The 3.55’s are probably also not helping .

May be if I drop to a 3.15 rear end with my 28 inch tires it will stay in 6th but I suspect I will need a taller tire(not sure I can go taller as is lowered with Eibach springs ).
A second gear launch might also help by avoiding the timing drop from 1-2 / one less shift .

Thanks for the above information . I already knew about 7 and 16 (I had the GT 350 table ) but looks like 26 is also transmission related.

I got an updated tune and was able try it out today
Only made one pass as my bumper/splitter keeps falling/hanging down (I think it’s the crevini lower grill that has stretched the tabs ?)

Another 10.0. It seemed to leave harder and I could tell it was faster up to the 1/8 then seems to falls on its face especially after it shifts to 7th gear.
    I thought I had it but ..... no .

The torque control is less intrusive and only on 1-2 and 5-6 shifts but does not knock timing down past 19(from 22-23 peak ).
I also noticed lower rpm shift points ans crossing the t[email protected] in 7th is not helping .
I may try a 26 inch tall slick(15 wheels so will need to swap in Baer brakes I already have ) I had tried with my KB car when it had a 3.31 rear(2.66 first Magnum ).
It let me trap in third at 145 mph in the KB car ! It did not however have a chance once I swapped the 4.10’s.
The 26 inch tire may help cross the traps higher in 7th rather than having to swap the rear end to 3.15/ taller than 28 inch tire to stay in 6th . Not sure if 7th is slipping .

I may just give up on the 3.625/E85 combo and pulley down to the 3.5 /race gas since it made the most power to date . Still made low 800’s with the 3.625/E85 so I was expecting at least low 140 traps and not high 130’s .
    I have a 3.375 “kill”pulley for c16 if needed .
Should also be fine with E85 once I install the return system .

Ordered the Steeda bumper (not from steeda but from the manufacturer) as the splitter falling down could be a disaster @140 mph . A7DE1FCF-B89F-4BA5-BA9E-21562905A101.jpeg 79B61EE8-82E4-4903-AE39-5D6830FAF461.jpeg
