Hey Pintoracer what color is the inside of your replacement fender(s)? I think you can see if your viewing angle is just right from the engine bay.

They were flat black primer. Back sides of the panels were cut in body color before installation though. I saw them after the paint was cut in before they were installed.

I had an accident several months ago and, like your car, was quoted $14k for the repair.

After i had looked at the breakdown of the parts and labor, $9k of it was for parts and the rest was labor. All was factory parts and not knockoffs, so that was a plus.

After the repair everything was good as new.

The real loss is the carfax report that is attached to your car now!

Looks to me like you did everything right. By going to a high end shop you preserve the car's integrity. (Carfax gets the report from the shop I believe.) Anyway you still have a nice car even though it's value to the resale market is diminished. If you hadn't chosen the high end shop you'd still have the diminished value and might not have a decent ride either.

Exactly why I took it too a high end shop! I figured they were less likely to turn out a crappy job. I also knew I wanted to keep the car. So, taking it to a high end shop did exactly what I needed, repaired the car well enough for me not to want to dump it and loose my shirt in the process. I still have a car that I enjoy driving and love taking care of.

True! And, it is a shame. But, I'm keeping the car. So, it doesn't matter! Is the car perfect? No. But, it is good enough for me to enjoy. Plus, it means I get to continue enjoying the Hooker Blackheart catback!

I took it to a breakfast and fast rides show this morning. All the guys there were complimenting the car and gave the repairs their seal of approval. Which makes me happy.

Paint was blended all the way to the back of the doors. Gotta give props to the guy who did the paint. He did an excellent job. No components on the engine were replaced. However, the radiator, condenser, trans cooler, and one of the fans were replaced.
