Quick causal question, was this at a stop light or a stop sign?

I only ask because I've been driving in an industrial part of town the last few months with a lot of trucks hauling pipes and valves. I've found at the lights I need to stop well short of the cross walk because the left turning trucks will significantly creep across the cross walk. A few people have had to backup to keep from getting their corners run over.

The stop signs are a whole other issue. I have to really pull up to see traffic so the trucks will usually stop and let me go in front of them so they have room to turn without pinching my front end off.
That's the problem with a lot of roads. They were designed with normal traffic in mind and not large tractor-trailers making turns in those areas. I see it a lot, especially with a few sand pits down this way, these guys around here (not trying to denigrate all truckers, they work crazy-long hours and usually are running on little sleep) fly through tight turns in residential areas tearing the hell out of the roads.

He didn't get out because he's instructed not too. I had a Ford Ranger Sport that got smashed because a dump-truck driver came over the top of a hill and the guy in front of me didn't go when a light turned green, driver saw the green and was doing 50 over a hill and slammed into me as he locked up his brakes. Thankfully my class 3 hitch took the brunt of the hit and the truck survived, but this guy got out and went after the driver of the car in front of me who wasn't paying attention. The lawyer from the trucker's company actually told me he wasn't even supposed to get out of the truck. But he was so incensed he went crazy.

If your insurance company is good, they'll take care of everything as long as you're not injured, otherwise you're getting into legal matters. Good luck.

Well as always, least no one was hurt.

You would be surprised what they will fix. If you want it totaled don't take to a Ford collision place. The knee airbag deployment may send it over, but your car doesn't look as bad as mine, and they literally put a whole front clip on my car. Dash panel forward all new...

Base GTPP, not even a premium.

Airbags don't play too much in the totalling anymore. It is all down to money now. I don't remember how many cars we have fixed where they popped every airbag. Front, side curtain, seat bolster. It's not uncommon to replace 10 airbags in a SUV. Not to mention sensors, diagnostic units clock springs. It only comes down to money for the insurance company.

Airbags never have determined this..... Only if your car value is high enough they'll repair it.

It is a big factor. The first thing the insurance company asked me after is everyone all right. It was a line item in the appraisal as well.

Vehicle involved in accident?

- Airbags deploy?
--Damage to structure?

Ultimately it comes down to value. I still can't believe they fixed my car. However it was the first thing the both the insurance company and the shop said. It takes alot to total out a V8 car. With the OP being a Premium car in would venture more to them fixing it.

Looks like the insurance isn't totaling it yet. They are going to have it towed to a body shop and taken apart for a better look at the damages.

Thats right, My Car was dragged a good 7-10 feet by the trailer into the car behind me.
Dam that's scary. I hope all goes well and you're made whole again. If totaled will you wait for a '18 or buy '17 again?
