I am hearing quite often about seat issues with the cooling/heating, features like those never last in any car really. Amongst others its one of the many reasons I stayed away from the premium, far less to go wrong.
Good that the engine is working well, Ford probably has made some changes though not that they have to divulge any info to us about it.
I retired from the company that makes those seats. Failure rate at 100,000 is less than 1%.

The problem is with the seat not cooling due to poor design. It's not that it goes bad over time, it just didn't work. Wait until it's warm outside and try your seat cooler, the seat bottom will cool but the seat back doesn't cool at all. Some even had issues where their seat back was hooked up backwards and heating while the seat bottom was cooling. Ford knew about the problem and even issued a TSB.

for those with Ecoboost, Automatic transmission, if you are moving at 60-65mph and WOT, what gear / RPM does it change to ? And how much boost?

You'd think with todays technology. Someone would program a throttle limiter or timing retard into these 4 bangers to save the engine. I'm with a lot of people on here and think a brand new car shouldn't grenade it's self because you forgot to down shift.

It would probably be best if we just talk about all the ads that litter the screen when I view this forum. Yesterday it was a bowl of maggots, today it's pictures of plump women selling weight loss stuff. That's pertenant isn't it since its on the forum?

Ok, you don't consider passing someone going 60 mph while in 5th gear stomping on it. I may have chosen the wrong words. I'll try to correct myself. Virtually all of the examples of this motor blowing are from people passing cars while remaining in 5th or 6th gear instead of dropping down to 4th. Most of the time people get away with it, but a small percentage of the time people don't. It is a known weakness in this motor. If you look up LSPI you can read all about it.
Sounds like Ford needs to put out an ECU update to address this if it's really the cause. I'm sure the Ford engineers can figure out how to safe guard the engine if LSPI is really happening ... or anything else that is the root cause.

Ford lists the Ecoboost as 320 lb.-ft. @ 3000 rpm. The rods and other engine components should be able to handle that power in any gear.
It's about the very high forces that could occur during a pre-ignition knock situation that would put way more force on the rods etc than the normal 320 ft-lbs the engine could normally produce.

Your V6 can knock by putting in winter 87 octane and lugging in 6th gear, does that mean we need multiple posts regarding the issue?
If it's causing crazy pre-ignition and possible engine damage then yes, there would certainly be a lot of discussions about it just like this thread is doing with the Ecoboost.
