Honestly it's what I loved about my Focus ST3 - no one paid attention to me except other ST owners. To the public, it was "lol, just a focus". I like a bit of spirited driving and in the ST it was nice, no one got in my way, but my Mustang?? Holy shit the amount of assholes who think I'm racing them is unreal. It's like "I'm fucking late asshole! I'm not driving fast relative to YOU - I'm driving fast to get somewhere!!"

Mustangs are everywhere here in Dallas. Nobody really pays attention like they did back when these cars first came out. Back then, it was fun with all the comments and stares. Yeah, a lot of people blow past me but i don't take the cruise control off to play. My car is fairly low key IMO. To the casual observer non-car person, it probably looks stock, but to a Mustang enthusiast it would take a few minutes to see all the small details that are not stock. I got a friendly rev from another Mustang guy over the weekend who was passing the other way. I like to drive my wife crazy when i see another Stang and tell her, "Oh look, fellow equestrian brethren".

I just got myself into a mustang, it sure is getting more attention than my F80 M3 did (or any of my other cars I've owned). I'm not surprised, a GT350 stole my heart a few months ago while I was cruising in my M3, hence why I got one :) Thankfully most of my commutes are single lane back roads so I don't have too many negative run ins, but I do enjoy conversations with other fellow enthusiasts or general appreciation of the car from non enthusiasts.

When I want a totally mindless drive where I am truly ignored, over in my slow lane, I take out my Prius. However, there have been occasions someone has said "Nice Prius" (I know.... a thing said no one ever lmao..), but it does have a nice limited "Black Cherry Pearl" paint job that Toyota did for this particular year. I love this car for other reasons.

Again part of country, here we have a weekly car meet there is anywhere from 200 to 400 cars every week. Lat week I counted 30 GTs and 12 500s from various years with 3 from 2020. They are a dime a dozen here. You will see 7 GTs just going to the grocery store.
Certain areas seem to have more than others. Here in Utah, I rarely see S550's at all, let alone a GT, outside of the car meets.

I believe most of the time it is what you make of it. I had a guy today come up to me and say hey that Green Mustang is yours, isn't it. I say yep and he said I bet I can get you off the line and I asked if he was driving the Vortech Super Charger Mustang that was parked right behind me. He smiled and said nope, I'm driving the Kia Stinger. I said yep you will probably get me off the line then....we actually ended up talking about a lot of different cars and he was a pretty cool guy.

When I first bought the car, had a police officer cruising behind me for a couple of miles and then he got along beside me and gave me a thumbs up.

The Green draws attention, so I expect it. A few of the places I stop at, the guys tell me I come in making all that noise....in fun.....I tend to tell them, heck I was trying to sneak in.

Hopefully you aren't talking about someone riding your bumper if you're lane squatting in the left lane going the speed limit. My pet peeve is someone lane squatting in the PASSING lane. You bet your hind parts I'll be all in your ass if you are going the speed limit or under the speed limit cruising in the left lane. These types of people are what causes wrecks and traffic jams...
I'm talking about those people that ride behind me when there is another lane they could pass me in. I guess they're figuring the cop will get me first.

I like the occasional "nice ride!" and most of them are sincere. What's priceless is when some folks see 6'2", 300 lb me climb out of the car. They were in no way expecting someone as big and old as me (59) getting out of a small car.

I get comments weekly, and I am in the Detroit area where there are zillions of Mustangs, as well as every other car guy's dream cars. And that is during this quarantine. Around here, there is a lot of appreciation for cars in general with the big three, the largest cruises in the country, etc. People don't hesitate to stop and chat about cars. I think I get more comments than average because it is a vert. When the top is down, it is a more social atmosphere where people feel more comfortable chatting with you than through a window. A lot of people comment on the red interior, which I also think is because they get a good view of it with the top down. Overall, I enjoy it, after all, I appreciate other people's cars and comment on them too (especially home brew mods). Of course there are options for high performance cars that don't attract attention at all if that is what you are after.

Reading some of these, I'm that much more happy with my '19 Bullitt. That green color and no badges (except for the faux gas cap) make the car less noticeable and I generally go gently on the throttle (also due to this damned app that saves me money on insurance, wish I never did that :D), I've not gotten much attention.

I also don't pull into places and parking lots revving the engine like an idiot, it's been a handful of people that really appreciate the clean look and ask what trim it is. And zero attention from police/troopers is a bonus!

From my understanding and hearing reviews etc of other cars, Mustang is one of the best comfortable/ease of access/performance combo vehicle out there that you can get...

It's the color of your car, got very little attention in my silver s197 and white s550 but everytime I go drive my red hot 1LE I experience the same thing as OP

Does get draining after a while honestly

In my area I only really get attention from ricers. Just the other day I went out and some kid was revving his VW GTI so I gave him a little rev back so he could hear what double the cylinders sound like. So he now uses his 2 step to make it pop loudly, the amount of riced out cars that will rev and pass you when you’re just trying to drive to enjoy your day around here is annoying. Half the time they’re cars with extreme camber and stretched out tires with 2 steps installed. Extremely slow but very loud. The other thing they’ll do that I find funny is they’ll speed up to catch up to me in traffic then when they see the GT badge on the back they slow down. I figure since I have the blacked accent package the badge is hard to see from far away.

It's funny how some people want to get past you just to say they passed up a Bullitt (or GT350, Mach 1, insert any Mustang here....). Kia's, Focus, clowns in 7000 pound 4x4 chipped diesels that think they have something fast because they can blow black smoke.

I like the genuine attention though, those that give you the thumbs up in the next lane, etc. Last Tuesday, I was at an old-time drive in restaurant that still has the young girls that come out and take your order (Vince's in Monroe Michigan, anybody from the Monroe area knows about this place). One comes out and takes my order, then two more pour out the door and start admiring the car and paint color. One says she has a photo of her with the first Bullitt. She was all of 18 or so, I would have liked to have seen that photo. Made this old mans day.

I'm with you 100 percent.

I drive around with the windows down, installed the loudest exhaust possible complete with sonic boom backfires, and just enjoy being a bad ass in a bad ass car. Only live once
