Up close, different story. I’m sure that with another $50 kit it would be fine.

Yes I bought good art paint brushes. I am just not a fan. From 10 ft I’m sure they look nice. I am such a perfectionist though. Oh well. I’ll decide today what I am doing about it.
Yep this is what Ive seen with every single G2 painted caliper in person. Once you get up close, looks like total crap because its so textured and runny in appearanc .

If I was gonna do a paint myself, Id get a good high temp paint color of your choice and use a 2 stage clear. Ive seen people have great results going that route.

That color is gonna be killer with the blue!!!! Need some blue brembo decals. I was skeptical with mine as well. I am very picky as well. Like I scuffed my splitter on the front last week. Car is totaled..... Ordered another splitter. LOL... Give it a chance n see how she looks

I wonder if you can paint over the G2 paint? I am about to just go buy blue VHT and say screw it.

I went with the stock Brembo color. Some shade of gray I think.

I had he calipers on a table, bare and clean. I just went around table. I probably have 8 coats on mine, and it’s smooth due to that I believe. Mine doesn’t have ripples or anything.

I am very disappointed with the G2 kit. I had better results 20 years ago with a rattle can. Yes I prepped the hell outta my brakes (car only has 1700 miles anyway). I hate losing money. Probably just go get some VHT rattle paint today and paint over.
G2 works great BUT only if you throw away the brush it comes with and use a quality sponge brush

^ I used foam brushes from Lowes, bought a 2 inch one, and 1 inch one, 2 inch for the face, 1 inch for crevices, and I used tiny poke brush for little spots I wanted a dab of paint in.

I’m going down the same path. I am upgrading from 4 position to 6 piston brembos... I plan on painting them before putting them on the car.
If you powder coat them don’t you have to rebuild them?
Thanks
Tim

Good question. However. If they are off the car. For sure do powdercoat.

Kiss method, If they come painted like brembos cool if they don't very tacky, Makes your car look cheap. Your car do what you want. But when I see it I won't be impressed. I'll just think you couldn't afford the more expensive calipers.
