My calipers are hazy from who knows what, so when I do all my suspension mods at the end of the month, I'm going to repaint them, and clean the surface rust off my rotors as well.

I'm going with G2 caliper paint, just can't decide on a color. I feel like I should get the custom color and go with Need For Green, but I'm not entirely sure. Only other appealing options are Red or Black.

Anyone have any other opinions on color choice?

I suppose it depends on how bold you'd like to go. A bright yellow (or gold if you prefer) would pair well with green. And I always like the combo of blue and green together (think Seattle Seahawks colors here). Actually, in addition to being a car guy, I'm a shoe fanatic as well. I only share that to provide context to my picture showing the green/blue combo just to give you an idea of how they work together. Shoes and cars are very different, of course. But hey, hope this at least helps give you some more ideas to consider!

Not sure what your original paint is, but beware that some paints are not compatible to paint over with a different formula. The haze you have could be from caustic cleaners. Different paint formulations have different resistance to that of course.

I was surprised...though not negatively...that the G2 paint color shown on websites is far, far from looking like the real life color. Advertised photos illustrate a gloss, nearly purple tint that looks real rich. Not so. It is more a race red color and I would characterize the sheen as semi-gloss. See pic below for sample of what it really looks like.

If you go with G2, I suggest using a softer paint brush that gives you good application control instead of using the stiff-bristled one they supply. Make sure to pay close attention to paint application timing, as it is a 2-part that could surprise you in setting up prematurely, getting globby, especially on hot days.

Oh yes...and prep the surface well. There will be a lot of heat expansion and contraction that could lend itself to peeling/flaking. That would be no fun to deal with.

What you see on mine, though not Brembo, were painted using G2 as well.

One thing I don't like about the small rear calipers is the semi-circular cutout. In hindsight I was wondering if painting the outside of the outboard pad would have been a good option. Or....if replacing the rear pads, why not use EBC's red pads. Of course if you go with another color caliper than red, red pads sure wouldn't compliment the look very well.

Decided on the Red. Have to order some replacement Brembo stickers then find the willpower to actually paint them.

I had the Default gray colored SVE wheels and blue caliphers looked pretty good, and when I put my black PP1 wheels back on the blue looked very good on the black wheel. Then my SVE wheels got powder coated a redish copper color and the blue looked like ass. So I had to use a metric ton of Arcraft paint remover to get it off. People have always told me to buy construction paper and cut out a peice to cover the calipher and see if you like it.

I chose the “gotta have it green” and did silver Brembo decals to match my car. I applied several coats of VHT clear over the decals to make sure it stayed in place

Thanks. They are the Kenny Brown (Baer) rotors
Did you notice much difference versus the standard rotors on the Mach 1? Regardless, they look cool.

In combination with the lighter forged wheels, I definately noticed a difference. Turn in, steering feel and braking all were improved.
