Now this post got me worried...so Steeda hardware is garbage? I think this isn't the first time their diff. bolts sheared off on a NA car...

I think your best option is to remove the differential unfortunately :(. Trying to drill, hammer, torch, punch, body slam that sheared bolt while still in the car would be a real pita.

My OEM bolt sheared, so don't feel bad. I'm not familiar with the Steeda setup, but does any of what's left of the bolt protrude from the front side of the diff? If so, you may be able to get a grip on it and turn it all the way out the front. Another option (if it protrudes) would be to use a dremel or grinder to slot the tip of the bolt so you can get a screwdriver on it. That would likely require dropping the pumpkin though.

Weld a nut on the broken end and turn it out. Simple.

None of the bolt protrudes right now. It is about a few inches inside. I don't know much about welding. Are you suggesting sticking a stick welding rod in there, making it stick and turning it out by hand?

So far, I'm leaning towards removing the subframe and diff so I can drill at 90 degrees and use an Easy Out.

My engine is still stock. At 4000ft and with how hot it is here, I don't imagine I make much power. I've never even taken my car to the strip or dump my clutch. I shift hard from a roll though.

If considering Ford Racing halfshafts, Mike R or Chris out of White Bear Ford in Minnesota will hook you up. They had the best deal I could find after searching for months. They have their subforum on here as they are a sponsor.
Thanks. I think that is where I got my Ford Racing Struts and shocks.

I will say this. Things break we all I hope understand this. But when we modify are cars we are hoping that the part we buy and install is of superior quality to OEM. If it is not then why are we changing it? :frusty:

When it finally gave way I was just pulling away from a stop light. Nothing hard, just regular driving. Car had 40k miles when it happened and it's seen track time, so no telling when it started vs when it finally failed.
