Have any of you guys considered adding additional heat extractors to your hood? Two functions behind this: the first for heat extraction obviously since our cars run pretty toasty and 2. try and prevent that hood raising that happens by the fenders. So of course additional hood extractors placed maybe slightly offset of the headers more bias towards the outside of the hood.

Is there a grille in the existing vent that can be removed for competition events and reinstalled when street driving?

Most of us are waiting for a reproduction GT4 hood - has generous amount of heat extractor vents.

its a nice soft alum hood just cut some holes, BUT what if its not pressure under the hood, but shape of hood causing lift. What will holes do then? You could end up screwing the airflow around the headers and car might run hotter because your letting the limited amount of air the grill allows in out too soon. I'm very leery of messing with airflow on these cars. I don't think you should even change the rear wing like putting on a R wing without lower the car and change the front spoiler to balance things front to rear. Ford spent alot time getting the aero right on these cars. Now if your professional driver and know how to tune an adj wing ok.

I was actually contemplating wrapping the stock headers to see how much it would help with under hood temps. Anybody have experience with that?

I have done that and ceramic coatings on turbos and exhaust. Why do you think you have a under the hood temp issue?

Not really an issue, issue was a bad descriptor. Rather, I want to lower the overall under hod temps because cooler is better. I understand the benefits in a turbo application. How effective is it in an N/A application? Is it worth it?

I had no way to measure under the hood temps aside from intake air temps. Based on that I would say no.

Im curious if the car pulls timing as it heat soaks.

The car runs @ 200-210deg just like most every car, truck,SUV out there, the side vents pull some air, the alloy hood dissapates heat better.
If you're a full time track junkie....maybe a mere mortal probably not required.
