Being UK based, I have had the pleasure of having taken my ecoboost convertible to Germany - on the (partially) unlimited autobahns!

I found that 110 is a comfortable cruising speed, and you still get overtaken by the Dutch in their big Audi's!

And the fuel economy at that speed isn't as bad as I expected - around 25 miles or more to the US gallon.

I am doing this again in a couple of weeks so I will get more data then.
My God what I wouldn't do to have a (partially) unlimited speed limit.

Yeah cruising at 100 for me means I'm not in a hurry to get somewhere around here. 80 (130 kph) is economy mode.

Yeah I feel the mustang feels really comfortable at about 100 to 110. It'd be a pleasure to be able to cruise a long at those speeds

3.55 cruising on 6 easily gets me to 90+ without even hearing the engine.

We're so accustomed to speed we don't even feel it. That's why I set cruise control to 65 and drive slow.

I constantly catch myself on the entrance ramps to the interstate going way too fast. I actually get behind the slow poke in front of me just to get use to a slower pace and then decide if I want to pass.
Now today was a different story. Entrance ramp was an uphill entrance. I jumped on the go pedal and was about to hit the century mark on the speedO and saw a cute little Porsche behind me struggling to keep up. :D

I'm always aware of speed, the 3.73 gearing + Borla axle backs tell me when the engine load shifts slightly. Heck, I've only had the car to 90 a couple of times.

Uhh, yea, but in my old C6. I can't count how many times I merged onto the freeway and looked down to see I was over 100mph. That car made speed way too easily.

The mustang seems smoother, and certainly not as torquey. I'm hoping the blower will give me back the ability to frighten passengers

I was over 120 on the Skyway, and didn't even notice until I looked down. Thought I was doing like 85 or 90, tops. The car likes speed. Just hope it doesn't cost me a ton in tickets, is all.

Even when I had my mustang, anytime over 75MPH I was very aware of how fast I was going.

Part of that might have been due to the Magnflow X, Borla Stingers and 4.10s though lol

I've never hit 100 mph "on accident". I don't understand how people do that. Because I know a State Trooper isn't going to buy that excuse.
I did it when I first got my EB... this might have been my second or third time out.

I came from a 4 cyl accord... whenever I wanted to pass someone on the hwy, I had to stomp on the gas a little ways out to build up speed.

I did that with the EB and flew past the darn 18 wheeler. I was more surprised than anything else.

Granted, I did not do that again. It is a dumb thing to do...

A year ago I took a trip down to Ensenada, Baja California. and I too notice how nicely these cars drive at 100+ MPH, I was driving down the toll road at about 80 MPH and decided to let her loose on the empty open road driving down the beach. Car had no problem keeping speeds of triple digits for a few miles. Good job Ford! :ford:

Before I bought this car I had driven 100mph exactly twice in 20 years since getting my license.

Now I do it almost every day. It takes so little effort. I never do it accidentally though..lol

So first off I want to say this isn't a bragging thread and I don't want to promote street racing or anything. This is purely about the mustang as a powerful machine

Anyway, the other day I was driving down a mostly empty freeway. Thought I was hovering around 70 but when I looked at the speedo I was slightly above 100. This blew my mind. For starters the engine didn't even seem stressed, the handling felt planted as usual. While I found it scary I could go that fast without knowing it also impressed me how well these cars are built.

Have any of you found yourself in a similar situation?
Happens to me all the time on the freeway. This engine doesn't strain at all when going from 75 to 100+. I don't even notice till I look down at the speedometer.
