9 speaker system wanting to install a Sub or upgrade?

HI all,

I have tried to do a search, but couldn't find a suitable answer. What is needed for me to install a Sub in the trunk (Preferably something that looks like the factory installed on the right hand side) for a bit better sound. Is there a kit I would need, or can the Sub be added to the existing Amp? Do you also know if it is pre-wired for this?

Could the B&O system work, I see a lots of you are not quite satisfied with that, but I guess its still better than what I have now...

Any advice will be appreciated, thanks.

Just go over to the infotainment and entertainment sub forum and search “subwoofer”.

OK, thanks for that. I have just been through the posts, and what I can figure out is that I need:

- a connector for the trunk (to connect between the blue connector and the sub) part no: JR3Z-14A411-C
- a new DSP (mine currently is HR3T-18T806-AA) probably FR3T-18T806-CP?
- And the Shaker sub which I didn´t find a part number on, and the parts.ford.com dont show this for my car (maybe because its not mounted from factory). Are there others plug and play subs available? And are they different between coupe and convertibles (the trunk dimensions)?

I have the B&O system so cannot help you with that. Hopefully others will chime in. Or post onto those other threads.

Can tap into speaker or factory wiring, just run an power wire kit to this.

look up p300-12 mustang6g on google, many members have this same sub. imo, its nicer than stock b/o and shaker sub by a lot.

Are you set on the Shaker sub, or will the B&O sub work for you too? Let me know if it will and I’ll get you a part number off of my B&O that’s sitting in my basement

I am pretty sure he has JL stealth box, which I also had and loved. the jl box. I think there's one on sale right now in classifieds for half off.

imo thats a steal if you can get it shipped for 500-550. 10x better sound than OEM. but you will need, an MonoD amp and wiring kit, and depending on how you wire it, an lc2i/LoC

No problem. I have the JL Audio Stealthbox which has a 12” sub in it. I’ve got more boom, boom than I’ll ever need now. LOL
