Hello everyone! this is an interesting one I could use help with.
first let me say I am new here and this forum inspired me to go with my black GT 5.0 premium as of April 2019
Car is a gt premium with only MBRP race catback, 20" wheels staggered....everything else is stock.
My issue: car will no longer go past 80MPH on stock, or other tunes
5/15/2019- purchased Lund tune and sct bdx device via beefcake/Lund email tune. Both have been amazing with their support, however we are exhausted out of options at this point and other than returning to the dealer (which will not be too happy about me having changed the factory tune) I figured there is more expertise here
Prior to 5/15 car would advance well past 80MPH (in Mexico of course) no issues
did the standard upload of the lund base tune.....did logs for lund and sent those back. Immediately received the flex and e85r tunes and did a log as well and was given the green light by lund on being clear to run.
noticed immediately after lund tunes I could not advance past 80MPH speed limiter-
-even when using Cruise control
-advance traction control off
-normai, sport, sport+, track, drag modes
- base tune, flex tune, e85r and most recently stock tunes make no difference
Vehicle is logging a DTC of u2100 and u0122 on the box device (however there is no check engine light to date), there was also an issue when initially setting up the BDX in that it failed its last 2 updates out of 30 total.
WHAT I HAVE DONE SO FAR:
-changed all tunes, even reverted back to stock tune with 91 pump gas as stated before
-combed through all tunes with Dakota from lund....he verified the "speed limiter" option is unchecked with all tunes
-MyKey- 0 set. Admin keys only (i even created a new MyKey specifically to move the speed limiter option to "off" however this made NO change)
-Kam reset
-cleared DTCs via bdx (they immediately reappear)
-removed battery for 10 mins
-removed vehicle body dynamics and pcm fuses for at least 10 mins (which is what the DTC codes claim, "vehicle lost connectivity to body dynamics module")
-Trouble shooted SCT directly (they took my serial number, overlooked and uploaded recovery files to the bdx device. Reverted to stock tune, then updated to e85r tune afterwards)- NO change, still seeing DTCs
SCT has stated they will run this up to the engineers tomorrow if the recovery files did not correct the issues
Dakota at lund and myself are completely baffled on this. there is no physical reason for the vehicle to have a hard limiter at 80MPH other than the tune or MyKey, which is currently off (i also do not get a warning when approaching or at vehicle speed limit as I should if the MyKey option were turned on), certainly not after reverting to stock on pump gas (e85 was completely drained to "0Miles left")
Dakota claims to have seen several issues with 2019's and the BDX device and has recommended me to swap for n-guage (a decision I now regret if this is in fact true). Beefcake has urged me to trouble shoot with SCT directly as the 2 believe the device itself could be faulty. Once they have trouble shooted completely, if no solution is found, I will go that route
for now, those who have used this unit in conjunction with Lund tune, your expertise would be greatly appreciated in advance
Dakota also mentioned taking to a local dealer for an ECM flash/update, however I am not reluctant to do so obviously since the stock PCM has now been modified, however if that is the fix, I am more than willing to go that route.
Vehicle currently has 1500mi on the odd (my weekend car which typically sits for several days at a time if that provides any context). I am in Socal, where the weather is great, and I do not drive the vehicle in rain. E85 was also verified with data logging for at least 80% alcohol consistency
