Can the S550 Gen 3 coyote be built to run 8 second NA 1/4 times? The LT1 currently holds the record NA over the coyote but I’ve always thought it was mainly because it’s insanely more expensive and more complicated to build a high NA Hp coyote making less power over boost vs just boosting it and making insane power on a cheaper budget, and so far it seems as if nobody has actually built a Gen 3 S550 for the sole purpose of setting the fastest NA record or trying to beat the LT1 NA record. Can it be done?

You are giving up lots of cubes.
Might have a chance if you use the MMR raised deck block and run 400 CI.

Like you sed, It wont be cheap, However, low 8's All motor can be done.

Not an S550 chassis but you get the point.

Aren't you really trying to compare apples to oranges here?
I mean the coyote is at almost a 20% disadvantage to the LT1. And even if you spent the money to get it as fast, someone could just make the same mods to the LT and your back to being slower...
It seems like the old addage "There's no replacement for displacement." might be the biggest thing working against you.

The only thing faster than cubic inches is cubic dollars.

I believe those guys got it down to 9.1 @ 146 or 147, it’s on their Instagram. Very close to 8s but they were also on stock cubes and stock heads. The Holbrook racing guys have a video of a 850hp coyote and that’s was a factory block stroked to 327 with ported 5.2GT350 heads, cams, a hi ram manifold and mono blade TB on C25. I can’t find anyone who’s done a NA build like that in the S550 platform and ran 1/4 miles. Which is understandable, it’s a lot more money for less power. The only purpose would to be to set a record 1/4 NA times or if you really really love NA build and have the money.
